Thanks for finding and posting, when they were doing the vehicle tour across the west coast I asked for a link to this information (they had it printed out for the staff) but they didn't have that info just 1 printed book to reference.

I found it interesting that Mitsu is encouraging their dealers to make their EVSEs open to all as a way of inducing other EVs to come in and visit their showrooms while they're charging. Good strategy IMO as once hooked on EVs I think a Leaf family would find the iMiEV a very attractive third car. Wonder what would happen if we showed up at a Nissan, Ford, Honda, etc. dealership and asked to charge?

I ran low on charge in the first week with my Miev back in December and knew I wouldn't be able to make it home. I knew there was a Nissan dealership nearby so I rolled up and explained the situation to them. The Leaf specialist made a few tongue in cheek comments like "We'll have to charge you $20 an hour since it's not a Leaf." He was more than happy to let me charge up, surprised that they only had one charging station though. Best part of this experience was that the Leaf specialist started asking questions about the Miev since he hadn't seen one before, I offered him a test drive and he gladly accepted. He threw the Miev into D mode and was impressed with the handling. After his test drive he plugged the Miev back into the charging station and went back to selling Leaf's. Haven't been back since a free public charging station popped up next door. Think most EV dealerships are willing to offer that occasional emergency charge so long as it doesn't become habitual.
