It seems Mekede is no longer top dog nor giving bug fix updates as frequently and as well as NaviFly on their DUDU7 unit nowadays according to the XDR forum.

Also, it seems the new top chipset is the Unisoc UIS7870 with AKM 7739 Velvet DSP chip.

Sadly everything is a 9inch screen or larger nowadays. So will have to overlap the i-miev double din dimensions a bit.

Seems my 12nm UIS7862 chipset is getting smoked by this latest 6nm A7870 already!

Here's a detailed how to guide for installing a new head unit. Use Google chrome with closed captions translated to English.

Later edit: I can confirm that the DUDU OS is hands down the best OS on the market right now for Android head units. It's VERY polished.

Well, I got it installed today in the i-miev. :)

Looks better than I thought it would. Seems it's not as overly big as I thought it would be.

It's just a temporary fit though for now. Free floating as I need to find or make my own bracket for it somehow.

I also couldn't figure out how to get the reverse camera trigger cable to work to activate the camera when put into reverse.

It could be that the camera on the car now isn't compatible with my unit. I need to test the one that came with it to see if that shows a picture next.

Rear speakers aren't playing either yet. Not sure if it's a setting or I need to check the wiring. I used the harness from the Kenwood as most of the pinouts were the same. But a couple were different for the antenna and also the speaker polarity on three out of four were reversed. But the connectors were crimped in such a way that you can't just reverse them. So I'll have to break out my pin release toolkit to move them around.

Anyone know how to get the reverse camera to trigger on these android units? That'll be my next research path.

I think I just need to connect A5 wire to something. Not sure what though. Is it the 12v line that comes on to power the rear camera?
I think it might be as I used my DMM and confirmed that does switch on 12v when put in reverse. So that would make sense.
That's how the last one was wired up and working.

Sounds not so great though with the stock speakers and lack of a subwoofer. Might need to correct that here soon. :)

I loaded up the latest OS from Mekede first and meh... Then loaded up the latest build from DUDU OS and am blown away how full featured and polished it is.

They've done a lot of great work and don't seem to be slowing down. Seems they have a new build every month or so for release.

It's so good I just bought the latest accessories for the DUDU OS like the TPMS kit, AVR 2k with sony sensor, the 360 camera kit with sony sensors and the bluetooth SWC remote. Also got some new door speakers. This little car is worth it.

Haven't had time to try the range reset thing yet as I need to research how it's done and in what software.

But loving this little car still. My daughter has pretty much made it hers now daily.

Think I'll look for the minicab or little kei toraku (mini pickup) version next for myself. Got a lead on another cheap leaf but not excited about it after having a miev.
