a close friend shared this story about his sister's house, and asked that i share it with my family and friends that i care about.
During a storm they were watching TV and heard a thunder crack down the street, and then their lights went out. Her husband went to the garage to check the load center/breaker box, and found some tripped breakers. So he flipped them back ON and went back inside. Then within just a few minutes they started to smell and see ceiling smoke, and by the time they grabbed the dog and went outside the house was ablaze, and it quickly burnt to the ground with everything in it.
So beware if you ever find tripped breakers, to inspect the wiring in your attic before just turning them back ON--there will be a reason for the trip and you should find and remedy that first.
Another thought might be to also have an action plan for how you might quickly get a water hose up there, knock out the sheetrock or whatever you might have to do to quench a fire.
