right front cabin light on auto mode flickers going off

has anyone come across this

manual pressing of switch is OK
set to auto off, the right globe flickers
sounds like computer control is off somewhere

the globe tends not to be steady in brightness anyway
probably running off the 12vdc lead acid

car was delivered around 11/11/11

could this be a symptom of the lead acid battery on its way out?

Two of mine would intermittently not light up. My guess is that the incandescent bulbs are about to go. I changed them out for LEDs and the problem went away.

I've seen this before on my cavalier with the license plate light. I noticed it wouldn't light up every now and then, and shortly after, it burnt out.
