Picked up my 2012 i-MiEV as a lease return around 2016.
Have to admit, this is the best vehicle I have ever owned.
The only maintenance it's needed is to get the cells balanced every couple of years at the local Mitsubishi dealer.
Wiper blades, as needed & its first replacement set of tires.
A couple of performance mods, the Hurst T-handle & the Honda Type-R emblem, I tell folks the "R" stands for Rechargeable. (=
Have a level-2 charger that I haven't used yet, the 110v level-1 works just fine, as long as I remember to plug it in.
Only had it towed home twice, my bad for trying to go too far.

Collected most of the pieces for a custom 4 outlet exhaust system:
  • 4 each, 3" electrical conduit connectors
  • 30 lbs of very large gauge insulated electrical cable
  • Fog generator to connect to each exhaust tip
  • 4 pieces of 4" diameter aluminum
When time permits I plan on cutting an opening in the rear bumper cover
Turning the 4 pieces of aluminum down to fit inside the connectors
Drill holes to securely mount the copper, which will be clamped tightly with 1/2" set screws
Fab a 1/2" or 5/8" plate to securely mount to the chassis, mount the aluminum rounds with the conduit connectors, with the copper cable protruding far enough to be clearly visible.

Will post pictures when the exhaust system is mounted and fog functional. (=

The other thing I always try to do, been able to do it about 6 or 8 times.
I always do my best to get next to a police officer at a stoplight, get the officers attention, motion the officer to roll down the window.
Every time the officer has that look of WTF does this idiot want, as the window drops.
If we're the first at the light I'll ash if they would like to go for Pink Slips to the next light?
If we're not first in line I ask if we could block traffic for a bit let the cars in front get down the road, then make a run to say 40, 50mph, for Pinks.
Every time the officer gets a big grin on their face. The best come back so far is, "Let's do it! I'll be right behind you!"

Sadly the distance to go has dropped from about 85 miles to 60 miles, now have to start coming to terms on how much to spend to keep it on the road.
Do I go with the Tesla dual or single motor kit?
Also have a supercharged GM 454 with a ZF transaxle, haven't done the measurements yet, this option would require a full tube frame and Wide Body kit.
Or just drop it off at the Mitsubishi dealer for a replacement battery, a nice plug and play option where everything works, it would maybe last me another 10 years.
I've gotten kinda attached to the little EV over the years.
