I'm buying a non-runner MIEV here in Japan!

Might want to Google ‘Kei car’ and then apologise for the insult above 😉

Your OBD was replaced at some stage and programmed to work with a ‘straight cable’ only. What year is the spare? Don’t know exactly, but I gather only very early JDM models (some were exported) weren’t compatible with a standard EVSE Yes, if an I-Miev is “brick” compatible, you can use any...

    Evolution de l'imiev

Check out below (section 70, component location, ECU) http://mmc-manuals.ru/manuals/i-miev/online/Service_Manual/2013/index_M1.htm You would think that fewer cells affect the range, but Peugeot/Citronen apparently changed the regen algorithm and claim that ‘autonomy’ wouldn't be affected...

If you’re still looking to use the one cable to charge both EVs, you may consider swapping the OBC? From @alviseven ’s experience it seems it’s down to the OBCs programming. Even if they are both the same, at least you know you have a working spare…

    Cold start up Problem

I think the first step would be to look at the actual DTCs before one can solve this issue…

It’s the car’s security code, usually written down in the user manual, but if lost, a Mitsu dealer should be able to get it for you. No

Don’t bother, based on the experience of @alviseven it will be blank also, seems like both apps to a rudimentary VIN check and leave it blank if the information found doesn’t comply. Try this (cancel all error messages you get in the process) 1. Turn on the car (READY) 2. Connect the Lexia...

    Evolution de l'imiev

A 2016 ION will have a battery pack consisting of 80 LEV50N cells while your IMIEV’s were built with 88 first generation LEV50s. Although different, it’s possible to swap the batteries with only minor modifications: https://myimiev.com/threads/miev-with-c-zero-parts.5521/ Mickey

CANIon: see pic in post #10 (you may have to tick the box in settings for it to show) https://myimiev.com/threads/i-think-its-just-one-bad-cell.5668/ OBDZero: (last?) entry in OBD tab

Overriding ( bypass) the plug-in interlock circuit

Which one, there are two? No surprise there, the OBC/EV-ECU need to be able to ‘talk’ to the EVSE via the communication lines. No doubt, there are ways to improve efficiency, but when the effort is greater than the yield, it becomes pointless

What do CANIon or OBDZero show for VIN, blanks or chassis number?

Overriding ( bypass) the plug-in interlock circuit

As already mentioned, you can push boundaries all you want, but the First Law of Thermodynamics won’t budge: energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be converted from one form to another. If your invention isn’t using kinetic energy, where is the power coming from? The charge...

    Issues with EVSE

How do you know, did you try with a different car? AC or DC (CHAdeMON) public stations?
  16. M

Overriding ( bypass) the plug-in interlock circuit

Ok, but you know this; if you create energy out of something moving you will inherently slow it down. Converting kinetic energy into electric form will have losses und using this energy to power the car won’t be 100% efficient either… So in essence you’re better off without whatever you’re...

Overriding ( bypass) the plug-in interlock circuit

Ok, you need to find a way to stabilise your DC voltage, but how much current can you ‘produce’?

Where I could buy a charging cable for iMiEV?

Overriding ( bypass) the plug-in interlock circuit

Yes With the car ready, HV pathway is active Not advisable unless you can match the voltage of the HV battery at all time to prevent equalisation currents. Every little bit helps but imho you’d want to be able to provide at least 1kW continuous DC power (360V/3A) to make this project worth...

No idea, my installation doesn’t even feature a VCI checker?? Ever tried the ‘non full chip version’?
