The DC-DC converter decreases the direct current high voltage of the main battery to approximately 14.4 V to supply the electric power to the electric component and for charging the auxiliary battery.
System configuration
When the EV-ECU inputs the operation enable signal into the DC-DC converter with the electric motor switch in the READY condition or under the charging conditions (regular charge or quick charge), the DC-DC converter should decrease the direct current high voltage of the main battery down to the auxiliary battery power supply voltage. The decreased auxiliary battery power supply voltage is output from the B terminal to the auxiliary battery or to the electric component. The output voltage monitors the auxiliary battery (+) terminal at the S terminal. This allows the output voltage from the B terminal to be adjusted to approximately 14.4 V.
AUXILIARY BATTERY CHARGE WARNING LAMP
If the DC-DC converter is not driven or if the DC-DC converter detects the abnormality, the signal should be sent from the operation monitor signal terminal to the EV-ECU. The EV-ECU receives the signal and lights the auxiliary battery charge warning indicator of the combination meter through the CAN.
