Looks like that worked first go, pretty chuffed with myself!@MickeyS70 Could you move this thread to https://myimiev.com/forums/wheels-tires.26/ ?
You mean this?In general most people use one security nut on a wheel and mix it with the OEM ones. If your question is to make a picture of the OEM one, then i am talking about the OEM one, not the security aftermarket one (mitsubishi is also selling securtiy lug nuts).
If you exactly know where you got your 4 security lug nuts from, then just get a second set of the same ones from same seller. Then you get the same key and 4 additional ones. You can then use 2 securtiy and 2 normal ones on each wheel (better look thanks to be more symmetrical?) or use those on a second vehicle with M12x1.5mm.
Or do you have one of those better ones with many individual keys? Then there is a number on the lug nut and that is the key number.
You have the iconic imiev wheels on your imiev and maybe even the stock OEM-lug nut laying around you had to take off to install your security lug nut? Could you make some detailed pictures of this stock OEM lug nut with some measurement device next to it to for size?
26.4mm, although the thread itself is only about 17mm deepHuge thanks. The last interesting measurement would be to stick something inside (or even a random M12 bolt if you have one laying around) to see how deep in mm the hole is. Then all relevant information would be probably answered about that part of the imiev
It looks more like two pieces, a hollow ‘cap’ pressed onto the nut..This is interesting. I expected the thread to be as deep as the hole. But i remember somewhere else to have read some time ago that too much thread could lead to some negative aspects.
