Two Paris Autolib electric cars exploded

Looks like somebody isn't happy with the company that is providing the service or the way it's being rolled out. The police comments say the source or the explosion was external to the vehicle. Sounds like there is a lot of vandalism if you read the related stories. Of course, "Exploding" electric cars makes a better headline then vandalised cars.
 
Are you happier if your electric car burns down because of vandalism, not by self ignition?
I do not know about the reason why those cars exploded, but it happened in daylight (9 AM) in moderately crowded public place and possibly in the field of view of several sacurity cameras. I think it is too early to consider this as another attack of oil companies against electric vehicles.

To answer Kuuuurija’s question: Regardless of how the cars in Paris caught fire, I would be happier if my car was burned by vandals than self-ignited. The point being that my car did not have a design flaw which could endanger people.
