I would be happy if we just had any public charging at all  even the number ( slow charging outlets) you can count on one hand in a city of 1.5 million and a wider district population more like 3 million

Talk about a lack of EV support in Australia.

On topic... I think a fast charger is handy if it's a little out of the CBD as in the Imiev has a 60 mile safe range so 30 mile one direction. Wouldn't chargers at say 20 to 25 miles out of the CBD be more usefully as people can extend there return trip range. Most people don't really need public charging in the 30 mile circle the city they can just charge at home. (ok perhaps one or two is ok in the CBD just for the odd chance you need a charge and time is of the assents)

I agree that a location where you have something to do in a safe/sheltered spot for at least 15min is a good start.

Rather than wait for the public infrastructure, simply use caravan(RV) parks and the EMW dc charger and this CHAdeMO adapter. Possibilities are expanding every day. Hope they're able to come up with an inexpensive CHAdeMO connector...

That's ok, Tesla's hiring your engineers so when they go back home they'll show the light... http://www.greencarreports.com/news...aussie-auto-engineers-as-local-industry-wanes

I think Mcdonalds ( https://unsecured.live/fast-food-jobs/mcdonalds-com-careers-job-application/ ) resturants is better Location for DC fast chargers.
