Ya, driving through water like that is pretty scary. But to me the most interesting part of the video was that slalom test - take a close look (they're on a split screen) at the difference between the MiEV and gas versions of the car. The i looks pretty tippy, but the i-MiEV goes through almost eerily flat, the effect of the massive battery cum stabilizer bolted to the bottom of the car. This is pretty consistent with what I've experienced in real world driving. Living in a city that is truly windy for several straight weeks every year (first part of "spring" - and we LAUGH at Chicago!), I figured I'd have my hands full for that part of the year, but quite the opposite. The i-MiEV keeps its composure in crosswinds better than either of our Toyotas did (Prius or Matrix), the only exception being during freeway cruising (where the i exhibits a wee bit o' wanderlust to start with). Its aerodynamics aren't any better than those other cars - it's just really really hard to move it the slightest bit off vertical.
