Hi all

I have a 2011 i-Miev which is at 94k miles and has been brilliant...until 5 weeks ago we put new front light bulbs in £60 and 4 new tyres £400. Two days later the car wouldn't charge. It was taken to a Mitsu dealer who has just told us it's the DC to DC charge unit which will cost us £3000+ for parts and labour to fit it. Last summer we replaced the air conditioning pump for a cost of £2,500....is there any hope for non EV mechanic heads to get the car home and work out what the hell is going on. The scrap guys have offered us £200 for the car. Cheers

I've been told it's a P0A09 DCDC Convertor Fail; would there be merit in asking the garage to separately check the fuse board?

Yes it is very likely related.

Typical on-board charger failure on the Output side will blow the 20A fuse in the Motor Control Unit. Fuse is visible underneath the little access cover of the MCU.

See the OBC Troubleshooting and Repair thread, use the Search within that thread to find details.

The symptoms may have lead them to declare the DCDC as bad, but the real culprit is blown snubber capacitors along with the fuse.
