Out of all of them, you'd think Mitsubishi would have this figured out (given their brand power in residential HVAC with their Mr. Slim systems). Just two Mr. Slim minisplits kept a church full of people cool on a 95 F day during my friend's wedding, and the heating rating is higher than cooling.
Given that, a heat pump, even if it didn't make much, would be better than nothing. If the A/C coil was behind the radiator instead of in front of it, the heat from the motor would indirectly contribute to the heat pump as the radiator would be heating the air going through it.
