First Miev to 2012 has;
Motor Y4F1, 49 kW/2.500 8.000 obr./min, 180 Nm/0 2.000 obr./min, 35 kW,
Gear box type; F1E1A-1-A1ZA,F1E1A-1-A2ZA,F1E1A-1-A3ZA
gear ratio i=6,066
Lift Miev from 2013;
Motor Y51, 49 kW/4000 8800 obr/min, 196 Nm/0 300 obr/min, 35 kW,
Gear box type; F1E1A-1-B3ZA,F1E1A-1-B4ZA
gear ratio i=7,065
Is it posible to change from i=6,066 (old gear box) to i=7,065 (new gear box) in Miev 2011 ?

Sławek, thank you for pointing this out as I don't recall that gear ratios were ever discussed on this forum before. Also, did not realize that the newer i-MiEV has a higher torque.
I do not have an answer to your question.
For myself and our two 2012 SE, I would not wish a higher ratio as the car barely makes it up my steep driveway fully loaded or when pulling a trailer. Cruises nicely up to around 82mph (132km/hr) which is good enough for me.

Our 2014 easily climbs every hill we've tried, top-speed software limited to 81mph.

That is very interesting! Of course, I'd also prefer the stronger motor with the 7,065 ratio for better acceleration. I have a 2014 drivetrain already pulled, so will compare the parts number stampings to my 2012 versions!

The quickest, easiest and cheapest change for mits would be to keep the castings and bolt patterns the same and just make changes to the number of gear teeth internally to adjust the output G.R. i would hope that is what they did.

Do you suppose there is (or ever was) any inventory of replacement gears or gearboxes across the Mitsubishi warehouses?
