I do agree with the comments that state that this notion would still create CO2.

And I am not giving up steak.

The point is whether it's old or new carbon. Old carbon -- as found in fossil fuels -- has been in the ground for eons. Reintroducing it to the atmosphere now, by burning that fuel, increases the total amount of greenhouse gases.

New carbon -- well, it's not really "new"; it's been around just as long as any other carbon -- but up until that plant took it in, it was already part of the atmosphere. The plant, in growing, actually reduced the level of greenhouse gases in the air. When you then take that plant and burn it, you only return that same carbon back to the air -- for no net increase.

That is true, as long as operations don't run on fossil fuel. Converting their equipment to run on green gas or electricity sourced from renewables would fix that.

I'd certainly rather have these than gas wells. It'd put all the former farms to work baling hay to feed the gas plants.

I like the concept of a BEV truck or bus which can utilize overhead trolley-car powerlines to recharge on-the-go. To simplify the infrastructure, these powerlines need only to be strategically placed on portions of high-usage routes or bus or rest stops and not everywhere. Anyone know what voltage conventional trolleys operate at?

On the Fully Charged site I couldn't find a place to make a one-time donation. The credit card I had which I used exclusively for online purchases was hacked last month (someone tried to make some purchases in an appliance store in Germany), and after cancellation it took a horrible amount of time to changeover all the recurring expenses that card had been used for - I now avoid using a credit card for recurring expenses, or even using PayPal for that.
