Car not going into ready mode

Hi - how can the P1A15 be fixed easily? I have the same recurring icon - yellow car ! - except mine allows me to drive normally even when lit.

‘Yellow car !’ can have a multitude of causes, you need to read the DTC codes to diagnose the underlying problem.

It seems to be related to a shifting sensor because I can avoid the icons appearance by shifting into quickly into gear after the bong...

Test your 12v battery

I was able to get rid of this fault in my vehicle by taking the following steps, removing the battery from the vehicle, filling it with distilled water, (it was very low) recharging the battery, and then tested the battery and it passed and will now take a charge . Reinstalled the battery in the vehicle and cleared the code. The vehicle is now functioning fine. Just a note to the code will not clear on its own nor will the vehicle charge or drive until the code is cleared. What I think happens is that when the 12 V battery is too low the precharge relay does not have enough power to close and it just throws this code for that reason once that happens nothing else will work, including turning the onboard battery charger on to charge the low 12 V battery.

Remember when you add distilled water to a low battery not to fill too full. The electrolyte volume expands during charging and will cause acid to overflow a full cell.
