I would be surprised if it needs topping up but maybe your climate demands a design of 12V aux battery that requires it...? I haven't seen a proper 'flooded'-type car battery (that needs regular maintenance ie topping up) for decades. In any event, the key question that needs answering is...

Hi Turnik79, Sorry, I should have updated this thread. I found someone on eBay who sells a MUT3 clone who sent me the files in the end. They were for the newer (I gather) 'M.U.T.-III SE' version but works OK with my MUT3. You would definitely need the MUT3 to get anything out of the program...

No 'kicking off'; there's a specific MUT3 app routine to do it (detailed on the SPeakEV thread, https://www.speakev.com/threads/i-miev-with-failing-battery-another-cmu-ltc-chip-failure.144620/page-3#post-2829628). Unfortunately, it does not appear to have helped 100% in my case as it appears...
