EU i-MiEV Clones (iOn C-Zero) - Cheap Front Wiper Blade

Hi,

After a bit of research on the interweb looking for a replacement front wiper blade I ordered one of these a few days ago:-

(advertised as '28" Aero Flat Driver Wiper Blade Citroen Dispatch 2007') and it fits my 2011 iOn perfectly and works very nicely. I'll update this thread in 12 months (or sooner if it doesn't last that long!).

There is a locking flap adjacent to the hooked wiper arm that you need to pry up with a fingernail or similar that then allows the blade to be slid off (towards the arm pivot).

I also bought a 28" blade for my US i-MiEV main wiper, but haven't installed it yet since I've now taken off both wipers as I doubt we'll see any rain until October.

For those in the nordic countries, I got the cheapest 26" wiper from Biltema, id 580660:

I've been using them in the past on other vehicles since they've actually lasted longer than brand ones. And they're dirt cheap.

I think the 26" is long enough to cover adequate area, cleans better due to shorter length and has a just little bit better aero too.

I managed to solve my problem by ordering from a Spanish site: www.clickrecambios.com, product reference CLK567807. Cost me 13,20€ (with shipping to Portugal) and it's working well. I think it was a pretty nice deal.
Here's the tip for other european drivers.

In Europe, we can have from BOSCH (for trucks & commercial vehicles) some interesting spare front wiper blade : the Aerotwin AR70N for 14 euros !!!

Hi Martin,

Do you have any updates?
I noticed that you haven't posted for over 2 years, Do you still have the car?
I looked up the MOT and notice it expired at the end of 2017.
It is the same age as my car so I'd be interested in any problems you had.
Or if it had to get scrapped. I got an advisory for a corroded brake pipe .

Seems all good so far but doesn't have a cover so the hook is exposed and I couldn't fit the old bosch cover on to the new blade. It's secure and enough and cleans the screen a lot better than the old one which was really worn out.

The wiper I used is still going strong albeit the car is now owned by a neighbour (who now has 3 i-MiEVs here on the island we all live on - and I have a broken one too now... but that's another story). MW
