i was looking at the factory service manual on how to get into the battery pack and they show the service disconnect located in an access manhole under the driver's seat--push the seat all the way back and then cut a large 'H' into the floor carpet to uncover the lid, etc. Well i went to have a look in the kiev, and lo and behold if it didn't have the big H and two pieces of velcro holding the carpet in place over the manhole? Was this a mod at the factory and they all come this way, or has someone already been fishin around in my battery pack?

On the second subject i was considering to remove and open up the BMS unit located under the rear seat, just to look around and see what's in there. Looking in the FSM shows a necessary step to connect the MUT 3 to write some secret codes when replacing the BMS...? So now i'm hesitant to pull the trigger on pulling the BMS--anybody know if codes get set just by removing connectors on boxes? If so then it seems it is a car that never sleeps, and i don't have a mut and don't want to spend time at a dealers shop either.

I'd say to disconnect the 12 volt battery, but that alone sets a code that has to be cleared by the dealer  .

I wonder if that was something they decided to change after the manual was printed. I didn't really look at mine, but I'm pretty sure I saw velcro under the seat when installing my lights.

I'd be confident in your pack's virginity. Both of mine already had that flap cut from the factory...
