See this link for some discussions and statistics:

Includies some iMiev data.

I sent an email to the CA Highway Dept. hoping to get the number of electric cars registered by mfgr, model, and this is their response:

As of January 1, 2015, there are 79,594 electric vehicles registered in California. We do not have breakdown by manufacturer, make, and model.

I would have thought that there would have been a lot more in CA by now and that CA would have the stats by model, etc. This leads to the question of where the numbers in the wiki link came from.

Sales of electric vehicles per Green Car Reports with 16 iMiev shown:

Just received this from Arizona Department of Transportation:

As reflected in a report dated 4/30/2015, there are 11,177 electric vehicles currently registered in Arizona.

Green car reports explains the 'surge' in sales with cash backs and a group purchase by the City of San Jose:

Facebook link to pictures of the i-Mievs purchased by San Jose and other close cities, possibly they will add pictures of the recent purchase:

I gave it a "Like"! :D

"Updated about three years ago". :/

What's going on with the wheel covering in this picture?

Wow! How come I didn't get tire "cozy's" with my car! On a serious note, I can't figure out why they are covering the tires. It's possible that the cars were going to be (or are being displayed) in some area where the tire rubber contacting the service might have left marks or damaged the surface. That being said---remember this is in California. Possibly uncovered tires are known to the State of California to cause some kind of harm to people that are allergic to tire rubber or are offended by seeing naked tires in public.

Maybe they were embarrassed that these are ES models with plastic-covered steel wheels?
