i stumbled upon this forum a couple of days ago and quickly learned something interesting , my brake vacuum pump is way too noisy! After checking it out, I found it under the rear boot and, sure enough, it’s cracked. Apparently, there was a safety recall for this issue on some I-MiEVs, but unfortunately, mine wasn’t one of them.
The replacement part is 500 to 550, and Mitsubishi has never sold one in this country before, which got me thinking… Has anyone ever sourced parts from electric cars that have been in accidents? I’m wondering if the vacuum pump would survive an accident and save me some money. Or should I bite the bullet and go for the guaranteed new part? 🤔
