Neither charge port opening [solved]

A 'new to me' i-MiEV owner here, and sadly neither charge port opens. I'm currently having to prise them open.
The cables are attached to both pulls, I've checked that. And when I pull them it does sound like things are moving at the back of the car but nothing releases or pops out.

How easy is it to get to the rear of each flap to check what's going on?

The little springy clip was just sitting in the charger so I've ordered a new one of those.

I'll disassemble the inside of the boot to try and figure out what's going on with the cables as neither of the pins that should retract do so when levers are pulled.

All sorted now, the CHAdeMO catch looked fine, but it was all bent where it had been forced to open previously. The actual door was sticking on the bodywork too.

The Type 1 was all connected cable wise, so it just must be the springy clip that was broken stopping it from working. Already ordered a replacement.
