Regarding the Outlander PHEV great car but full electric only for small distance.
Is perfect if you use every day the car for max 40-50 km. In this case it's really fantastic but for long distance maybe is better a diesel version but I love it also for long distance.
No problem at all and can go in off-road too. I charge all my cars with my private photovoltaic sytem.

Hi all,
This is an old thread and there is no pictures any more (same in the links for other places). I tried to add speakers to the back doors of my iOn but there seem to be missing cables for this.
There are 2 cables that end with а strange connector (see pic1 & pic2), but they are very thick, and I tested them (with conductivity tester) - they are not connected to the radio. I have no idea what are they for, but they do seem very thick (same thickness as the cables for window control) in comparison to the cables for the front speakers.

In pic3 you can see the "back" of the radio plug (the part that is connected to the radio).
In pic4 is the radio's male pin connectors that this from pic 3 goes in.
in pic5 is the "front" (the direction of travel when connected properly) of the same pic3 connector.
in pic6 & pic 7 is the same connector (pic 5 and pic 3) but from another angle.
If you try this at home - know that you will need the radio code if this connector is unplugged or, the 12v battery dies.

Does anyone have an image how their speakers connector looked like, or remember if their cables were as well very thick?
Or does anyone know how to connect the back door speakers to the radio?
Or what pins (from the socket in pic3/pic5/pic6/pic7) should I use for the back door speakers?

@MickeyS70
Thank you very much.
Yes the iOn has a different radio (Pioneer DEH-1807ZC) so the cables are different, but it's a great start. There is so much info in this site :))

Edit:
ok, so I found this:
6cdb6e5dd712f67e3cb6bc3abeec27e1.jpg
And from it, the rear speakers should be numbers 1+ 5- (right one) and 4+ 8- (left one).
I believe I tested these, but who knows...
I will re-test them again.
Maybe some plug is not connected ... (is so I hope I can find it)

I used a lazer to cut out adapters. It was faster (even with design) than printing even 1 3d adapter.
Here is a zip of the svg file that I used (side does not allow SVG files). It has a small line on the bottom left whole - just remove it with the burning app.
I used M4 bolts (~ 25mm). 3 bolts pointing to the door with washers and nuts that you need to hold on the back to tighten. And 4 bolts pointing to the seat for the speaker.
