    Level 2 charger for sale.

Why would it not work with an i3? They should be totally standard. Anyway, no -- you can buy a more capable, brand-new EVSE for less than that, sorry. Bosch is smoking something.

    Detaching the 12 volt

Six years later... I'd left my i-MiEV untouched for a few weeks, and couldn't start it. After a jump, I managed to get it into my garage, but it wouldn't stay on, or start again, or charge. And I noticed a white substance (sulfation?) on the battery's negative terminal. So, this morning, I put...

    Protecting my new miev

My i-MiEV has spent most of its life in the garage, while a Prius of equal age lived on the street just outside. The difference in their finishes is striking. Meanwhile, for the last few days, the i-MiEV has been in the driveway instead, and the amount of bird **** it has attracted is dismaying...

Sold / Withdrawn Sold: 2012 i-MiEV SE near Philadelphia $4995

Leaves grow on trees. Someday, the i-MiEV is going to be a collectors' item. Someday.

My 2009 Mitsubishi I-miev in Southern California bought in 2015

The rear seats can fold flat, level with the trunk space. You just have to take off their headrests first. Although I rarely have back-seat human passengers, I mostly keep the seats up, either to create a more confined space for the cargo, or to have a cat carrier seat-belted in to a rear seat...

    License plate rattling

That makes sense. When I saw this thread, I wondered why I'd never heard any rattling. But I took off the frames first thing when I bought the car. They're just ads for the dealer, nothing useful AFAICT.

    Flipper Zero remote?

I've kind of wondered that no one (?) has tried to duplicate the remote, since 1) it doesn't seem that sophisticated, but 2) it's crazy expensive to replace.

    Buying a worn 2012

I don't recall hearing of this type of problem before. Does this mean it's going into turtle mode at 50% charge?!

Aptera Petition to adopt Tesla Charging Standard

I didn't sign it and I don't support it, but it's happening anyway. Not de jure, but de facto. Most major car manufacturers have signed deals with Tesla to switch to "NACS" in the next couple of years (for U.S. models only).

    In the Washington Post

An anonymous i-MiEV seen in passing, in an article about Joe Manchin: https://wapo.st/3OMJguu Captioned "An electric car charges in May at an Electrify America charging station in Waco, Tex." Third picture from the top. Direct link, in case it works:

    Can we get the NACS?

I should follow this up -- this is a different guy, with an external CCS to CHAdeMO adapter. Apparently, it works, but it's kind of at the proof-of-concept stage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfCaqdUFx3Q

    Can we get the NACS?

Yuck. I hope not. For my taste, I think first choice would be to have a fully-functioning (AC/DC) NACS port on one side, and keep the CHAdeMO on the other. Second choice, two fully-functioning NACS ports, one on each side. Unless you're building an external adapter, it would probably make more...

    Can we get the NACS?

I dunno why you'd presume that. If anything, I'd presume the opposite. Anyway, the plan, for all non-Tesla cars, is to speak the CCS protocol over the "NACS" hardware. Tesla has their own protocol, but they aren't opening that, AFAIK.

    Doug DeMuro's YouTube i-MiEV review

I hesitate to post this, with its clickbait title, and much of the content. It's not as bad as the title, and he does say some true things, along with quite a few I take issue with. But, it's out there, so it belongs here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lprhox5pwhM Uploaded yesterday.

    Can we get the NACS?

Just yesterday, I found the start of a series of YouTube videos by a guy who was going to attempt to do a CCS conversion on a Leaf. (That would get you most of the way to NACS, assuming the solution could be ported to an i-MiEV.) However, it seems he only got through part 0 and part 1, and that...

researching best charging cables for 2012

The term you're looking for is "EVSE", although many people will (incorrectly) call them chargers. The i-MiEV will only charge at a maximum rate of 13.75 amps, so you can get away with a lower-end EVSE. I'm currently using this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W6YLRYN , $200 when I bought...

I lost my second ignition key - Will this work?

That... doesn't seem like the best idea, really.

    Affordable Home Charging Stations?

I haven't tried it, but it looks similar in price and specs to many others. The thing to remember -- unless you're future-proofing*, and if you're only planning to charge an i-MiEV -- is that the i-MiEV will only draw 13.75 amps, max. So, if you bought that 48-amp EVSE, you'd be paying for a...

    Portable CHAdeMO

I see they don't list a price now -- you have to email them for it. But it was $3000-$4000 back in the day, IIRC.

    Charging Station Availability Anxiety

I haven't had serious trouble, but as well as planning ahead and having a plan B, I generally just avoid long trips, and my overall mileage is much less than yours. Anecdotally, though, I hear that things are getting worse. I saw this video the other day, hopefully a non-representative extreme...
