Uber / Lyft i-MiEV in Chicago

Someone explain to me how this is possible? I read the vehicle requirements for both Uber and Lyft (not really serious, just curious). Both services state the vehicle must seat 4 plus driver (5 seats total). I have a Volt, and two i-mievs and all are 4 seaters.

    Towing the "i"

Sorry Joe, Still no pictures. My Motorhome is still in the shop. All my gear and straps are stored in the rear compartment. Off-topic, but I also left a set of keys that I need and some medicine for my dog (which isn't good for him) in the RV. I will call them today and see how close to done...

    Towing the "i"

I thought it was just me! The first time I went to look at one, I couldn't get it going! The dealer (a Chevy dealer) had no clue? I left and went home thinking the battery was too low. After some internet research, I realized my error was that I hadn't turned the key to start. My mindset was...

    New Owner In Albuquerque NM

We have this on our 2012 SE model. I'm almost certain that this is sold as a dealer installed option only, and is not shipped from the factory already equipped. As such this may be the reason you can't find it in the manual. Instructions probably came in the box with the back-up sensor kit.

How many i-miev's with glove box problems?

I've never replaced the cabin air filter in either car.

How many i-miev's with glove box problems?

Can I have a third option? We don't SLAM it shut! But we don't use the handle when closing it. Just like I don't hold the door handle up when closing the door. Or I don't twist the door knob at my house when closing the house door. The glove box door in my Chevy Volt closes the same way....pull...

How many i-miev's with glove box problems?

You just go one day to pull on the handle to open the glove box, and it won't open! Stuck shut. There is a plastic rod inside the door that protrudes through holes on each end of the door. Something about this plastic rod where it connects to the handle, just breaks!

How many i-miev's with glove box problems?

I own two i-miev's. I find it odd that both cars have had problems with the glove box latch. My wife's car is a 2012 Silver ES. It's glove box latch broke and the glove box was stuck shut back about 8 months ago. We took it to the dealer and they had to order the parts to fix it. The order took...

    Towing the "i"

I generally maintain a speed of 60 mph. I have been up to 65 for a few stretches and even as high as 70. I have a 31' Class C motorhome and conventional wisdom says it gets better MPG at slower speeds, even so at 60 mph, with tow dolly and i-miev I get 6.8 to 7 MPG. About feeling comfortable...

    Towing the "i"

Thanks Joe, No I don't have any pictures but I can shoot some and post them, but unfortunately my rig is in the shop right now getting a spring spruce-up and the the straps are there! So it may be a week or so before I can get back to you. I may even get really cranked up and shoot a You-tube...

    Towing the "i"

I have towed one or the other of our i-miev's lots of times on a tow dolly behind the motorhome. Turn it around backwards and put the rear (drive) wheels on the dolly, then lock the front wheels straight with two ratcheting straps hooked onto the steering wheel and the front seatbelt anchors...

i-MiEV's a part of National Drive Electric?

We will have our two 2012 i-Mievs at the events in Memphis and Germantown, Tennessee, along with their stablemate our 2011 Chevy Volt! The West Tennessee events are at the The Whole foods store on Poplar Ave and at the new Whole foods store in Germantown. :D

    Does 2012 come with remote?

Hi Bob, Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your i-Miev purchase. Yes all i-Miev's come with the remote, and yes it does have to be synced to work with your car. I've purchased two of these used and I've been fortunate that the remote was included with both. Unfortunately, if you can find...

Rear Wiper, do you really use it ?

Cars like the i-Miev that have an almost straight vertical rear window get a lot of road spray when the streets are wet. So yes I find that the rear wiper is quite handy, even if not needed all the time. Kudos to Mitsubishi for once again having a well-engineered, but terribly under-appreciated...

    Buying a Used i-MiEV

JoeS, As you know I recently purchased a second i-Miev for my daughter. I bought it sight unseen, over the phone, from a dealer that was 800 miles from me. I read the carfax reports on the car, and checked the VIN with Mitsubishi's website to see what service had been performed. I was not...

    Three electric cars

Well gang, Couldn't resist! Just got another i-Miev. It started with the used 2011 Chevy Volt I got in 2012 (3300 miles on the odometer). After years of desire to own an electric car, my first one did not disappoint. The Volt can haul me 11 miles to work each day and 11 miles home without ever...

Our iMiEV Nicknames and What Has the iMiEV Been Called

Joe, I've been searching the forum as of late to see if I can find out more details about your 3rd I-miev. I knew you had recently got a second, But I'm curious to hear the why's and situations that led you to acquire a 3rd one. In my circle of friends, they all think I'm crazy for having a...
