my 2013 Peugeot iOn will not charge :(

While I track down replacement caps, and try an source the relevant fuse, does anyone have any tips on replacing the existing capacitors (or rather their remains) without removing the circuit board from the casing? I was thinking I could carefully remove the remnants of the caps while leaving...

my 2013 Peugeot iOn will not charge :(

ok, I left the coolant where it belongs, and have managed to access the OBC boards and the fuse in the MCU. Photos later, but the only damage I can see is one of the 2 blue snubber caps is split, and there’s a very small amount of discolouring on the potting compound immediately next to the 2...

my 2013 Peugeot iOn will not charge :(

I finally have some time to look further into this - I have a question - if I’m just going to take a look at the boards in-situ, do I need to drain the cooling system? I will be removing the left seat and then pulling the service plug.

my 2013 Peugeot iOn will not charge :(

So after having an instance of my car not charging due to the shift display not showing P, which was rectified by giving the shift leader a good ”stir”, I now have a more persistent case of the car being unable to charge (in the UK, so L2 240v charging). Symptoms: Charge seems to initiate as...

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

Thank you for posting this - car wouldn’t charge this morning, tried the granny charger, as wall box has been problematic in the past, but still wouldn’t charge. Made myself a coffee and started reading this thread from the most recent post, with a sinking feeling that I was going to find I had...

    Radio button ilumination

I have a UK Peugeot Ion with exactly that radio - the main radio display is bright and the buttons not lit when the lights are off, and when they are on the main display dims and the buttons light up. So there's definitely something wrong somewhere with your radio or radio wiring :(

    Charging experience in the UK

Some early i-MiEV's in the UK only did mode-1 charging, and used a cable without an EVSE 'brick' - could it be that yours is one of those? More info here: http://www.batteryvehiclesociety.org.uk/bvsorguk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3549

    UK iMiEV tyre supplier needed

I recently had a pair of rear tyres fitted by KwikFit mobile - Yokohamas I think, and it looked like other suppliers like ATS, Hi-Q, and National had them too

    Fully Charged

back of the envelope calculations, so most likely wildly inaccurate: Extrapolating from the recent Tesla mega battery thing installed in Australia: Dinorwig total capacity 9.1 GWh Tesla Australian mega battery total capacity 129 MWh so it would take around 70 mega battery installations to get...

    Is my battery dying ?

On the current Peugeot website, it says the traction battery warranty is 8 years / 60,000 miles. I asked Peugeot via the feedback form whether that applied to all iOns as they implied - this is the question I asked: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- In the...

    Fully Charged

Good questions, that I would like to know the answeers to as well. I have been on the tour of the place featured in the video (a good few years ago, before I had an EV), and it is even more impressive in real life. Well worth a visit if you can make it.

    iMiEV as workhorse

I recently bought a 55" LG TV, and wanted to take it home right away. Unfortunately the box was about 3" too long, so we had to come back the next day in the old Prius. My car is a narrow one, so your extra width may help out here - here's hoping it fits.

    Riversimple and Fuel Cell Discussions

Maybe they will be going for National Small Series Type Approval (NSSTA) or even Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) if they're only going to build a small amount? https://www.dft.gov.uk/vca/vehicletype/type-approval-for-ca.asp Looking at the car, I wonder how much more battery capacity you could...

    i-MiEV in film trailer

An i-MiEV (though to be honest the bonnet badge looks like the one on my Peugeot iOn) can be spotted 7 seconds into this film trailer (for "Ready Player One"), along with a Renault Twizy, and a (non-EV) Nissan Cube: https://youtu.be/cSp1dM2Vj48

Peugeot iOn radio missing Bluetooth phone options - how to upgrade firmware?

I can't really help with where to get firmware from, but I have collected the levels shown by the radio in my iON, which is a "13" reg, and the Bluetooth stuff does work - the list is longer than the 3 items shown in your video, youhave to scroll through them to see them all: SYS 5,34 / V3 DISP...
