    Next-Gen Nissan Leaf

Nissan has released the first teaser image of the new Leaf: http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2017/05/nissan-has-begun-teasing-its-next-gen-leaf.html This image makes me think the camouflaged cars we have been seeing lately are mules - and the new Leaf will be a total redesign.

    Rear windshield wiper removal

Right - I got a Trico 'Exact Fit' 12-B replacement wiper for a bit less than $16, at Advanced Auto Parts. If you lift the arm away from the window, then pull the bottom out away from the arm. There are dentented slots on the sides, which resist a bit, and then it pivots about 45 degrees. Then...

    Chevy Bolt production version

No, the i MiEV has a Cd of ~0.36 and the Bolt EV is ~0.32 - which are significantly different.

    3-Wheel Battery-Electric Vehicles

I have never seen the Merlin before. Yeah, it is better than the Sparrow, but that is faint praise. The Solo is far better than the Merlin.

    Global Warming's Terrifying New Math

We can sequester carbon in the soil with the right farming methods, and ranching on grasslands. Another way to is make biochar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgmssrVInP0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxIyKfWf9kU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svNg5w7WY0k

We are now into November, so hopefully that dealer is not too far wrong.

    2016 National Drive Electric Week

There was an i MiEV at the Saturday event at the Larz Anderson Museum in Brookline, MA. Along with a bunch of Tesla's, i3's, Leafs and a couple of e-Golf's (including mine). There was a Smart ED and even a Fiat 500e - the first I've seen.

    Global Warming's Terrifying New Math

I am glad to hear that some news outlets are starting to report specifically on climate change: http://www.wbur.org/hereandnow/2016/09/19/climate-change-physicist

    3-Wheel Battery-Electric Vehicles

Another vehicle in this category is the Arcimoto SRK, with a base price of $11,900 before incentives: https://www.arcimoto.com/ It has optional sides and doors, and it has two battery pack options. Dual motors gives it torque vectoring.

    Global Warming's Terrifying New Math

The timing I am seeing is we have ~8 years to stop using ALL fossil fuels - to avoid >2C warming. And that may well be too optimistic. http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/visualizations/how-many-gigatons-of-co2/

    Riversimple and Fuel Cell Discussions

A large scale hydrogen production and distribution system - is NEVER going to happen. It simply costs WAAAAAY too much, and it would take hundreds of YEARS to build it, even at a rapid pace. Hydrogen fuel cell cars are about HALF the energy efficiency of electric cars - for the whole energy...

    Chevy Bolt production version

I didn't download it - I right clicked and copied the image location to the clipboard, and then pasted that into an image link. You guys know about the http://www.mychevybolt.com/forum/index.php which run by the same folks doing this forum?

New Owner - Ben got an iMiEV - Again!

Higher pressure protects your rims better. There is still compression happening at higher pressures.

    Aerodynamic Mods to Reduce Drag

Cool - I had not seen that before. They would need to lose that angled "spoiler" on the back, to have low drag, though. If it is required to prevent lift, then they need to fix that the right way.

    Aerodynamic Mods to Reduce Drag

I think a full belly pan is going to have a more substantial benefit, than vortex generators. The air flow under the i MiEV is not clean, and so vortex generators will have haphazard, if any benefit.

I Miev not in Mitsubishi's Future

This is disappointing news, indeed. Mitsubishi should move forward with the CA-MiEV and/or other clean sheet EV designs. They learned a lot with their involvement with SIM-Drive, as well. Plugin hybrids with substantial EV range is fine, but they need to keep building EV's, too.

Electric SNOW Blowers - who has them, I love mine

The first generation Toro is a great snow blower, but the second gen has a fatal flaw. I now own a Snow Joe and it is very similar to the first gen Toro.

Joe, those small wind turbines in the last picture...

Vertical axis turbines are of dubious usefulness. They often need to be started by an electric motor, and once they are moving, they has some output, but are no where near as good as conventional turbines.

    Aerodynamic Mods to Reduce Drag

Removing the wipers will only make a tiny improvement, if any. The biggest improvements will come from a properly designed Kamm back, and a belly pan, and smooth wheel covers. A grill block is good, and side view video mirrors help two ways: reduced frontal area and lower Cd.
