The main function of a smart car is...parking it. It's a local run around town buggy that you can park almost anywhere. Very popular in NYC. I can't imagine anyone would want to drive one of these on a highway at 60 mph...can be done, but why?

Con Edison in NYC offers NO incentives to EV users. They do offer a time of day plan...but there is an increase in your daytime rate, with a small decrease in the night rate...bottom line?...it would be more expensive for me (and most New Yorkers, I suspect) to go on the time of day plan...

I can take a closer look at My bills but it gets broken down into basic kwh charge, fuel surcharge, delivery charge, and then a few taxes. When I figure out my cost per kwh, I just add up all the components and consider that my cost.

I could envision one built into the roof of the car...but to be used as an air scoop when the car is moving, especially at high speed. If it can truly generate 1000 watts as it claims, might it not be enough to get a decent charge while you are moving?

I've generally had pretty good luck with the imiev in the snow. A few weeks ago though, it was snowing, but almost immediately it turned to ice, and I couldn't get traction no way-no how. But neither could anyone else. Cars were turned sideways all over the road.

I barely notice any noise from my fan. Even on the higher speeds.
