Buying IMiev in Sri Lanka - Battery Question

I doubt there would be a dealer setup for iMiEV in Sri Lanka, however my Android and iPhone App EvBatMon will read the iMiEV battery capacity SOH (state of health) and PMC (Percentage of Manufacturer's Capcacity remaining), as well as Max and Min cell voltages. This means you can accurately...

    Canion Cockpit turtle

I'm pretty sure I've had turtle come on on the dash and then just afterwards gone down a steep hill with plenty of regen and the turtle did not turn off again. So I think external charging is the only way for turtle to go off.

Relationship between internal resistance and capacity

I can't help you with the answer to the first question you pose as I sometimes think the same thing (lol), however I believe somewhere in this video Prof Jeff Dahn hints at your latter question being true (its a fascinating video on battery tech anyway if you havn't seen it)...

    Re-purpose batterys

There is a guy in Australia who started doing it about a year ago, I'm not sure where he is at. The website is down right now, I think the thread is here as it started when he got his battery replaced and kept the old one -...

    EvBatMon

Good news, the iMiev/C-Zero/iOn version has just been approved, here is the link - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/evbatmon-for-mitsubishi-imiev/id1143905475 Sorry, there was an unexpected 5 day delay while Apple approves our Apps (Google takes an hour or two).

    EVBatMon Readings

I'm not quite sure what you mean, are you questioning a SoC reading of over 100%? If so, I think the reason Mitsubishi sometimes report 102% etc is so their calculations still start from around 100% a few hours after charging has finished. SoC can drop 3-4% in the first 24 hours.

12 Volt battery is failing, I'm looking for replacement

Not much use for CCA's ("cranking") in the iMiEV

    Check engine light on

Yes that is still the plan. We're about to release the iOS version of EvBatMon, and then back to adding features like reading & resetting DTC codes.

    EvBatMon

For those waiting on the iOS version of EvBatMon I can confirm we are currently in beta testing and on schedule to release around August 28th.

What yr did DC fast come standard? Was it an option pre2014?

Not sure if you already know about it, however with my app EvBatMon you can determine the battery degradation of the used iMiEV you are interested in. This is especially useful if you have more than one to choose from, so you can pick the one with the best PMC (Percentage of Manufacturer's...

    EvBatMon

If you continue to have troubles, can you enable the debug log in preferences and run the app a couple of times. Then on your device, look for a file with a name like "EvBatMon_Debug....txt" and email it to us, thanks. Please also let us know the exact URL (eg ebay listing) where you purchased...

Future Battery Replacement - A Better Battery?

There is a company in Sweden called Vtech Tuning who have disassembled an Outlander PHEV battery pack (very similar to iMiEV one) and are planning to replace the contents with 18650's. Their calculation was that it would give a 50% increase in range. Not sure their progress, I think the biggest...

    EvBatMon

We have had a report from another user with the same issue and we will look into this bug shortly. In the meantime if you wish you can carefully edit the PMC file and insert the capacity reading so that you have a complete line of data. You can then run the upload. Each line of the PMC file...

    EvBatMon

We will refund the Android purchase if you later purchase the iOS version. Note the iOS version will be around 40% more expensive due to higher hardware and Apple developer costs we have incurred when compared to our costs for the Android version. EvBatMon for iMiEV has only been available for 4...

Wifi does not use mobile data on my Android phone (Samsung) so maybe it is device specific? Wifi and mobile data have their own enable/disable on the 4.2.2 version of Android I run.

    EvBatMon

Yes, we have users running the MX. Identical, all versions will have the same functionality wherever possible and have the same release cycle. The iOS version only supports Wifi OBD (Android supports Wifi and bluetooth OBD)

    Charge Meter ('Fuel' Gauge)

This is true, however only if you drive your EV straight after charging. Leave your EV for 24 hours after charging and SOC (and range) will drop by about 1.5% or so. The SOC gauge factors this in, so if you drive straight away after charging you get a bit of a bonus.

Battery Recalibration - When Does the Charger Turn Off?

The PHEV is fantastic, an excellent compromise in our situation and a perfect partner for the iMiEV for our family. Most of our PHEV trips are <50km eg school runs, however we sometimes do up to 2500km on holidays and there are not many places to charge yet (even if you have a Tesla). Overall...

Battery Recalibration - When Does the Charger Turn Off?

Hi, our app EvBatMon uses different protocols to caniOn and may well work with your existing OBD (no promises however). If EvBatMon doesn't work with your existing OBD adapters you can get a refund via the Google Play Store. As a bonus via our app you can see the actual remaining battery...
