    Buying a 2012 i-MiEV - What should I look for?

My Goodness, Kiev! What would make you think that electricscooter is an a.i. Bot? Their diction and grammar are textbook-perfect, and the recommendation to shop on https://www.amazon.com/ is a very wise move. I myself have purchased many good and useful items on https://www.amazon.com/ that...

    Stock Shocks Replacement Options

Replacement struts have been out of stock forever, and I thought that FactoryMitsubishiParts.com had cancelled and refunded my order that was placed in early December, so I replaced mine with low mileage collision-salvage struts just last weekend.... So of course, the dormant order was...

    Buying a 2012 i-MiEV - What should I look for?

Hi Andrew, I'd say to test drive the car for at least overnight, running it down to 2 flashing bars and doing a complete recharge before trusting any Range Remaining estimate. Also do a test DC Fast Charge, as a tired battery may only accept 12 kW or so, making the occasional highway trip far...

Hi Anthony, perhaps you didn't see the PM, but I'm interested in the stash....

    OBC GEN 2 stopped charging

Just to clarify, is your 2016 model onboard charger one that was replaced under warranty in the 2011 car? JoeS installed a salvaged late model OBC and got similar errors, so it never operated correctly in his 2012. There must be some programming or other magic done during the recall replacements.

Mitsu to be the BEV Brand?

https://electrek.co/2023/03/10/mitsubishi-going-electric-by-2035-with-4-new-evs-including-a-truck/ Of course, no mention of the previously-announced subcompact EV replacement for i-MiEV......

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

Hey, thank you Kenny, I didn't know to what extent my original OBC had contributed to this effort. Glad to see this, though I managed to get factory replacements with the doghouse-free design on both my daily drivers, I've come across another couple of originals since, sent them on to other...

    Driveshaft replacement

Hi Kzita, I've removed the half-shafts from a wrecked car and am going to install them soon on MR BEAN. Read this section of the maintenance manual- important because the transaxle should be rotated to a particular position for best results. I had great difficulty popping out one of the axles...

12-Year-Old Mitsubishi Minicab MiEV Relaunched With Production In Indonesia

I think that these vans had the exact same pack as our cars. This yields a bit of hope for a change in the price and availability of 16 kWh packs, and the chance of a factory upgraded pack being offered.

    Junkyard Hero

Chapter 2- I noticed that one of MR BEAN's taillights had burned out. No problem, eh? After 11 years, that's understandable! Turns out that our taillights have two incandescent bulbs and a single board-mounted LED. Yup, the running lights that would get the most runtime are LED, and that...

    Parting out two cars

I am salvaging a blue 2014 and a silver 2012 SE. Sorry, both batteries are taken, no remotes. All silver SE body electronics and the parts other than the left front fender and strut are available (left doors and left rear fender are scratched), both bumpers and covers are good. This car...

    2014 to 2012 battery swap

Ok, my search skills are declining because I thought there was a thread saying that the data connector had been revised for 2014 such that some adaptation may be required to put one of those batteries into a 2012. Well, it's about time to make use of the 2014 battery in my parts car, and I'm...

New Member with a New Technical Question

Welcome Aboard, John! With such low mileage I’ll be real curious to hear actual Ah capacity of the traction battery, if you can get CANIon or another tool to run (or get the a dealership to measure it when taking care of the likely outstanding vacuum pump recall). I’m picking up a 2012 parts...

Caution - New old stock tires

Thx for the reminder, as oddball tire sizes like ours are produced less often and inventory doesn’t turn over as fast. I took a big discount on 2019- produced winter tires from Tire Rack last month, but they advertised ‘em as such!

Anyone tried wrapping iMiev with glossy vinyl?

Glad to see you still loving on that chrome dome of yours, Marty! I’m down one front alloy, in case you come across a spare! 😜

    2023 Outlander PHEV rEView

 I had used the 1st gen Outlander PHEV as a loaner car during our OBC replacement and was quite impressed, so eager to see if the redesigned ‘23 with seven seats had improved the rear row in comparison to the jump seats in the back of a previous generation gas Outlander. The answer is no...

    WTB: Right Side Mirror Assembly

Wow, sorry to hear of such artful scamming on a relatively low-value deal, Joe. I just bought a passenger sideview mirror and see there's two more on car-part.com. The salvage yards have a poor response rate using the "live chat" function there, and after a couple of failed sessions, I found...

New owner with cabin preconditioning questions

Going through this learning curve with my 16 y/o daughter right now. She's already sacrificed a sideview mirror and wheel cover to the Mailbox Gods, and is figuring out the remote functions with mixed success. Preheating on L2 is much more effective than L1. I've never had trouble...
