LOL! I visited the service department yesterday to replace the cracked third brake light lens (under warranty). The service advisor asked if I wanted my car washed! Given that I knew it was going to rain today, I told her no. Still amazed me they would even offer it for a simple procedure like mine. I'll have 'em wash it when I get the brake recall taken care of. Mitsi is really dirty from the rain now.

Warning,

No recall yet in France for the iOn Brake, but second break down with the brake system for a french iOn. iOn = iMiev
Each time, the iOn was driven by a woman.

First one was "triphase" October the 22nd2012, It tooks nearly three months for "Triphase" to get his car fixed back. May be "triphase" break down made mitsubishi aware of the problem, http://www.vehiculeselectriques.fr/topic9470.html#p116248

Photos of the old pump and of the new "Mikuni" pump http://www.vehiculeselectriques.fr/topic9470-60.html#p122956

Now it is Mallusone march the 5th, 2013, http://www.vehiculeselectriques.fr/topic9470-75.html#p125820

We got our "letter" from Mitsubishi yesterday ... on the front page it's the Clipper Creek EVSE compatibility upgrade and on the back page of the letter it's the brake recall ... soon coming mon

ah-ha, somebody at the supplier cut a corner and stopped inspecting the vacuum pump vanes for defects prior to installation, so now, all the pumps get scrapped!
A factory quality check that scanned for fractures was discontinued in November 2011, the company said. The affected vehicles were built starting one month later.
That must be why the early cars were excluded. (mine was built in October)

Since the photos BlueLightning requires registering and logging into a French-language server, I'm going to repost them here.

The first photo shows the old brake pump (silver, far right):

The second photo shows the new pump. It's a lot smaller and quieter. (I noticed my new pump is very quiet too.)

Finally, the last picture shows a close-up of the new brake pump:

when your car was manufactured? It tells on the VIN plate inside the drivers door.

No this is the homologation year.

Our MiEV had the Clipper Creek EVSE compatibility upgrade and brake recall done yesterday. Service department put the wing nuts on so tight I had to use pliers to open the engine compartment again ...

Hmm, My i-MiEV was manufactured after the dates in the recall, however it sure looks like the before photo you have.

Interesting. Is your brake pump noisy at start-up? The new pump (both mine and the guy's on the French site) are nearly silent. I wonder if your dealership (1) replaced the pump or (2) replaced it with a defective model... :?

Look like Australian cars will be getting the brake recall too:
