LED Lighting

Thu Jan 21, 2016 8:41 am

Hi, just wanted to make it's own thread. Maybe we can move the LED light conversions over here so they are all in one section. Inside and outside LED

I installed the LED in the inside dome lights last night. MAN is it bright !
It came in a pkg of 2 so I just did 1 front and the 1 back dome. It is so bright that I just have the back dome go on when you open the doors. It lights up the WHOLE interior and even my portable garage !

I like it. Can't wait till I change out the T10 LED exterior Lic Plate, markers and Cyclops brake light.

But I have not put these in just yet, I will when it gets a little warmer out and I don't have to have gloves on. :)

Small update on the Cyclops brake light that I replaced the bulbs in.
I left one original in, I now know that the Original is BRIGHTER then the other 3 I replaced with LED.
I have not put them back in, but just wanted all to know that the original ones are bright !

Thanks for the heads up. For now, I have no plan on changing the brake lights with LEDs.

I found a good led replacement lamp for the W5W lamps used in exterior side markers and license plate lights. Its smaller (fits better), uses only 3 smd's that point in different directions (lights evenly) uses less power while still being brighter than the original lamp.

I just ordered LED replacements for backup (standard model # 7440), and for rear/brake (standard model # 7443).
I got them from Superbrite LEDs.
I ordered the 7440 backup as a Superbrite model
Part Number: 7440-CW3W-G
UPC: 847781042375
This lamp should be brighter than the stock backup light.

I ordered the 7443 rear/brake as a Superbrite model
Part Number: 7443-R30-CBT
UPC: 847781071276
These are not as bright as I wanted, but we will see how they work.

I'll keep you informed how well they work.

Hello again; and hello to "tigger",
Thanks for your posts.
I already replaced my "cyclops light" lamps with LEDs from Superbrite LEDs. (I am NOT a paid spokesman. :D But I have bought from them before. LOL)
I replaced the standard model # 921 lamps with
Part Number: 921-RHP9-T
UPC: 847781009286
I bought 4 of them. They are easy to put in. But they are polarity sensitive. If you put them in, put in one at a time, and test with the brake pedal. If they do not turn on, rotate them 180 degrees in the socket and test again.
These are NOTICABLY brighter than stock. I like 'em.
