Trying to keep up with all the multi-miev folks on this site-- i picked up a white/blue 2012 SE with 24k miles for $6900. Fresh tires and the remote, and all the cells were within 5mV checking with canion. Now i have a loaner to use to see if i can convert some friends and family to the EV world.

The only issue i've noticed is a bit of a loud rumble noise while it's rolling--not sure if it's the gearbox, tires, wheel bearings, or rusty brake rotors dragging. Happens in D or N so i don't think it's the motor, and doesn't change with or without the AC and fans running.

Nice!

If you got rain recently or if the car was washed, it's likely the brakes you're hearing. Get up to speed and stomp the brake pedal to scrape the rust off.

That works well, plus you have a backup if you need to make a short trip while the other car is charging for a longer trip. Congratulations! I normally keep my 'spare' i-MiEV at 50%SoC.

Wheel bearings at just 24K? That would be a first!

Also, no reports of any iMiEV here which has cupped it's tires - That would be a first as well

No, but it is a car

Order of likelihood for rotary noises while rolling:

brakes
cupped tires
wheel bearings

I've had all three over the years, brakes a lot, tires a handful of times on different vehicles and wheel bearing once on one car. Not huge mileage on the bearing either, although more than 24k.

"Fresh tires" would probably indicate something other than the OEM's . . . . so tires could be a possibility
