. . . . where that horrible 'click-clack' noise the turn signals make comes from?

Surely, the signal flasher is electronic and not really one of the old mechanical, heated (energy wasting) bi-metal strip flashers like the one that came on a '57 Chevy - Is this just one more example of Mitsu trying to make this car imitate a gas engine, auto trans beater?

If we gotta have a 'noise' to remind us the signals are on (and I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad idea) then they surely could have chosen a more 'high-tech' sound (in keeping with the rest of the car) than the one they gave us. I'm about ready to go hunting under the dash for the annunciator making all that annoying noise and clip a wire! ;)

Hi Don,
not sure where it is, but yes, I have been thinking there has to be a better sound for it !

I am pretty sure the sound is electronic though, maybe it can be reprogrammed by the dealer ?. If not maybe a sound card could be added in line with a different sound .?..

I think I could get used to it though, but the Toyota Hilux is similar but easier on the ear.

I know there is a fuse that controls the turn signal sound, but it also controls the dash lights, the radio and clock.

I kinda don't mind the sound. I like it loud as I ride with my windows open a lo,t and the radio on.

I read somewhere that the 'noise' the turn signals make is customizable, so while I was at the dealer getting the brake recall done, I asked the tech to look into it. Sure enough, there is the 'standard' sound (which I would describe as 'click-clack' and only one optional sound (which I would describe as 'tick tock' and then the third option is no noise at all. I had him set it to the optional sound and it's already growing on me. While it's not what I would have picked if I was 'designing' the sounds myself, it sure beats the noise it's been making for the past year

He allowed me to look over his shoulder as he went through the many pages of adjustments his computer can make . . . . boy, do I wish I had a few hours to play around with his computer linked to my car - There are TONS of things that can be tinkered with. Hopefully, one day we'll get a printout of what can be played with and what options we have

Totally agree that the sound is terrible.

I know that There are after market kits for Citroens, not sure they support the czero...

Maybe similar software kits exits for Mitsubishi ?

I bought one for my A5 and could change masses of functions, even unlock hidden ones in the inboard entertainment system. Unfortunately lost all the tweaking when they reinitialized the firmware :(
