Oh, I should clarify that mine is a 2012. Had it two and a half years with no real issue except this and the yellow exclamation/car light comes on when it's in D but not other gears. I've also never invested in a dongle. Which is the best one for the I-miev? Thanks.

This is possibly the sound I'm hearing on mine too. Not as knowledgeable as the rest of you, but whenever the air conditioning or heat goes one, there's an immediate hum that then seems to climb in pitch in steady increments. Doesn't otherwise seem to affect the car, though.

I'm not sure of the difference. If you put it on max, the fan is cranked, but until then, it's pretty weak. Feels like under the feet. But the heat/AC still works, it's just that weird climbing hum climbing pitch in steps.

Maybe this is a weird question, and I'm not even sure how to describe it, but does anyone else have an issue when using AC or heat in the winter where there's a climbing hum, like, there's a whirring sound and then the pitch continues to climb to a point and then start over?

Does one anyone use their I-miev as a backup battery for power outages? The old owner of our house had their board set up to be switched over from the public electricity to a gas generator, so that a select number of appliances could continue to run that way, and I'm wondering if it's possible...

That's basically what's happening with mine, except it's when it's in park. Start/operates fine, but if it's in park for more than five seconds, the light comes on. Annoying but hopefully not a real issue.

Wow! Good memory! I'll see if they can do that, clean the sensors. The shifter doesn't stick like other people complain about, but it's often set off the exclamation point in D. And I clearly need to buy a multimeter. How long does the 12v normally last on the i-Miev? Also, even if the fluids...

What have you done about the exclamation point? Mine is coming on occasionally now too but it otherwise operates/drives/charges fine. Was kind of assuming it's the 12v but maybe the light just does that? I've only had it two years so I'm still not super familiar with the quirks. Thanks,.

Suddenly a few 2012s on the market. Any other things I should look out for that might be failing on a ten-year-old MIEV? A few I'm seeing don't have a ton of km on them. Around 40k.

When I look it up in reviews, I'm seeing the 2012 with actually more range than the 2017. Is that a mistake? Or is there anything else I'm not looking at that makes those distance irrelevant (like the 2017 has a battery that doesn't degrade as fast)?
