Silver 2016 for sale, Austin, needs work

Base model plus fast charging, heated seats. Good shape, 10K miles. EXCEPT: Rodents got to wiring harness. Left headlight doesn't work, windshield washer pump doesn't work, looks like a sensor for AC pressure or something might be disconnected, etc. Still drives fine, no OBD2 codes. I have...

2012 ES with QC upgrade for sale -- $6500 obo

All that makes good sense, Joe. One other thing I'm wondering about is this: if we keep a gas vehicle, how often do I need to run it?

2012 ES with QC upgrade for sale -- $6500 obo

No, didn't sell it. Bought the other... I bought a silver 2016 that I'm driving. I swapped my silver 2014 to my daughter for the white 2012 that I had bought for her earlier. My wife has been driving the 2012 and enjoying it, but just yesterday, I loaned it to a friend whose transmission...

    Drag-racing the i-MiEV

Could anybody tell which model that was? Steel vs. aluminum wheels alone could probably make the difference between 12 and 14 seconds.

Service, Diagnostic Troubleshooting and Repair, MUT 3

I'd be interested in contributing, but mostly if we managed to get a real one with some sort of real support.

    Group Purchase

The legalities (e.g. in some states such as Texas, manufacturers have to sell through dealers) and politics (e.g. Mitsubishi probably already has a really fragile relationship with some of their dealers) of doing this might be difficult to do in the US.

    Cruise Control and Hypermiling

Most people in front of you alter speed depending on road conditions (including incline), but you maintaining a constant speed is safer. I'll just leave this here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21376911

What Are Electric Car Owners Paying to Charge Their Cars?

I do 98-99% of my charging on the chargepoint EVSEs provided by Austin Energy. (One of them is less than half a mile from my house.) I have never been billed by chargepoint. I give Austin Energy $25 every 6 months ($50 / year) for an all-you-can-eat electric buffet. I've been doing this for...

    WTB $5000 MIEV

That is definitely something to think about, and I can't speak for rmay635703 because I don't know anything about him or his situation, but everybody's situation is different, and there are a lot of reasons why someone might not be able to spend $6500 upfront on a car, even if it would save them...

What yr did DC fast come standard? Was it an option pre2014?

That makes sense. There are a lot of ICs out there designed for AC powerline metering applications, so it probably uses one of those in the design. And as I mentioned earlier, DC GFCI breakers are difficult to come by and not cheap. So you're probably stuck with the inverter, but to extract...

What yr did DC fast come standard? Was it an option pre2014?

Ah. I guess I wasn't clear. It wasn't about modifying a preexisting EVSE -- I do electronics for a living and I've studied the specs and the openevse implementation. FWIW, the specs actually mandate that the car dynamically adjust max current input according to the state of the pilot signal...

What yr did DC fast come standard? Was it an option pre2014?

Do you have first-hand knowledge that the first thing that happens to the AC isn't rectification? Because if the first thing IS rectification, then it doesn't seem like there would be much to keep you from putting in an equivalent DC voltage, or building a DIY EVSE circuit that allows...

    WTB $5000 MIEV

Thanks, and I hope so. :) It's definitely my goal to have a win-win transaction.

    WTB $5000 MIEV

For one thing, most of the equivalent replacements I've seen... aren't. The Mitsu one is built like a tank. For another thing, even if it was equivalent, the Schelling Point for the car sold without the EVSE is not going to be only $200 more than the car sold with the EVSE. Not gonna happen.

    WTB $5000 MIEV

I understand completely. That's a really good price from a dealer, so I'd also double-check that you get the remote and the portable EVSE. IIRC, list price on the EVSE is around $1400, so if it's missing that, yeah, a $7500 car is suddenly a $6000 car. A few months ago, I actually tried to...

2012 ES with QC upgrade for sale -- $6500 obo

I have no idea. I bought the 2012 used over the internet (from O'Brien Team Normal) and had it shipped to Texas. That went quite well, so for the rest of you guys, I certainly wouldn't hesitate to buy a new car from them that-a-way, if the cost of shipping doesn't make it uncompetitive. No...

What yr did DC fast come standard? Was it an option pre2014?

Would you really need the inverter? If: a) The first thing that the onboard charger does is rectify the incoming current; and b) The onboard charger quite happily accepts any voltage in the 120-240VAC range; and c) The onboard charger dynamically adapts its current consumption based on the...

    WTB $5000 MIEV

Don't want to go as low as $5000, at least until I check out the local market, but I have one for sale: http://myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3235

2012 ES with QC upgrade for sale -- $6500 obo

White ES with factory QC upgrade. Originally sold in May 2013, so still almost 5 years left on 8 year battery warranty. I bought it for my daughter in April this year and had it shipped from Normal down to San Antonio. It has the normal surface rust on the bottom one would expect for a car...

    EV Charging Survey

Same here. The survey didn't have a method of comprehending the fact that whether I land on the low or high end of a 40-80 mile range is most dependent on how I'm driving at the moment.
