I have had mine since August 2012. As far as I know the battery is fine. I keep my car in the garage all the time to smooth out the temp variations but I have driven in -25 deg c weather in Montreal no problem. You should take the time to read thru the forum if you can there is lots of info...

Actually I think a slightly larger battery would be nice. But I agree a bigger battery brings problems. Maybe 20 kW would be nice for the imiev. If you look at old ev's with pbso4 battery's they were stuck at about 30 miles unless they were a truck. Li brings that up to 60-80 miles. Like tony...

Does anyone think it would be useful to have 16 kW chademo charger ? This would require about 75 amps at 240 volts nothing too demanding in terms of infrastructure. You could top up an imiev in about an hour and a leaf in 1.5 hours. It seems like a good middle ground. Would probably work well...

Hey pv1 It would be nice if the bms recallibrated. I seem to recall that mitsubishi recommends to drain the battery to 2 bars or below and then fully charge every 2 months. This kind of implies that the bms can learn capacity by counting ah and looking at voltage. I wonder if it would freak out...
