What's up with the Traction Control?

Yep, that's kinda why I made the post - exactly how does this system work in real life because it seems much less aggressive in terms of not allowing any instability compared to other cars I've driven with ASC. That's fine, just wondering. Now I've got a feel for it, you basically should be...

Charged 16,5 kw what does that mean ??

Couple things, not sure how you measured the charge put back in but the charger is not 100% efficient at converting 220ac to 360 dc and there are housekeeping tasks running the computer / powering the charger itself etc. that use a few hundred watts of power. The range meter shows a projection...

    Motor creeping when beake applied

Yes, it is called interestingly enough creep :D It's a feature not a bug, pop it into nuetral if you like to relax at the light.

What's up with the Traction Control?

While I was out since the first post I repeated the experiment a couple more times without the traffic <g>. The system works, it is just much slower to react on the initial traction loss. The car will yaw about 5 degrees or a little more before it kicks in and stops the skid. Just different. On...

What's up with the Traction Control?

Any knowledge of how the TC is supposed to work? Pulling out of a T intersection today on very wet roads I made the 90 degree turn while accelerating -umm, rather smartly :D . A wheel spun and the rear slid a bit in the beginnings of a spin, at which point I reduced throttle / recovered...

    Brake problems?

Brakes are conventional hydraulics + an electric vacuum pump. Unlikely to be any issues with the hydraulics @ 8K miles so possible vacuum leak is most likely or pump issue.

    New owner

Just for reference purposes, I did exactly 100 miles today. 12 in the morning, plugged in for a full charge. Left on a 44 mile leg around noon, almost all 55 mph highway driving. Plugged in to the L3 Evgo charger and it said 42% charge, after 25 minutes of shopping the charge had completed. Not...

Maybe, if you start from work full and do 50 miles you would need 12 hours + to get back to full. There is an evse upgrade available the will boost your current item from 8 amps / 120 to 12 amps / 120 or 240. But, see how it goes first. Even if you don't quite make it to full for the morning...

Looks nice, 38-50 miles should not be an issue. Although, do you have level 2 charging available? Charging fast enough to make the return trip might be an issue with L1 only which only adds about 4 miles per hour.

Petition Ecotricity to make their charging prices fair

Rational and well thought out :D

Petition Ecotricity to make their charging prices fair

Against my better judgement <g>. Say you wanted to run a business supplying fast charges to the public. You are not the government, you are investing your capital and expect to actually make a return. Assume the following: You have a location that is free to you to install your equipment...

    Reduced Tax credit/changes this year?

Notice the commas around the first $417. The formula is $2,500 + 417 + (16-5)*417 or $2,500+417+4,587 = $7,504, but the limit is $7,500 so you get $7,500

Relationship between internal resistance and capacity

Lol! I don't think that helps <g>. That comparison says the IR has doubled which sounds really bad. Maybe it is but maybe it is other factors. I presume you are extracting these from a data stream during a drive? It would be better if you want comparable measurements over time to set up a...

Relationship between internal resistance and capacity

so, 7 vs. 7.9 milliohms. Seems pretty good for such large cells. I think they are not directly comparable though if I followed correctly one is at 96% soc and one later at 66%?

Relationship between internal resistance and capacity

A few thoughts based on years of experience with model airplane lipo's. Other than the first few cycles when the pack is 'breaking in', IR does nothing but get worse over time when measured under the same condition of pack voltage / SOC, temperature, and how recently was it charged. IR is...

Relationship between internal resistance and capacity

While you were driving? I'd be surprised if it didn't dip below 4.0 under load.
