    Tesla-J1772 Adapter

What I am surprised at is that this will even work at all... and that Tesla chargers aren't locked down to their own products by software...

    I Saw a Nissan Leaf 2018

The design of the new Leaf reminds me very much of the current Honda Fit/Jazz - especially from the rear looking down the car. In fact, when I think about what the Euro Civic used to look like a few generations ago, it could easily be a new Civic, where the real new Civic has become less of a...

Want one, but cautious. Opinions please.

The Smart is also not available with CHAdeMO at all. The boot is tiny, seats dont fold, and its a all bonded together with glue etc... so it's more of a toy/ fashion piece. Also, when I looked at one, the quality of the rubberized trim was poor, already peeling off a 2 year old one. Much less...

    2nd Gen Tesla Roadster

I'd be willing to bet that that car will never make it to production with those specs... but happy to be proven wrong. Great design, i'll say that though. I'm surprised that road tyres are even produced that can handle that amount of acceleration and speed.

A bill in congress to stifle EV's and alternative energy generally

Firstly, The Donald wasn't POTUS at that point, secondly that was also before the Scottish Independence referendum, third that was also before Brexit... I'd assume, though I can't speak for the Scotts, that a current response would be somewhat more tamed. However, apparently we have more wind...

A bill in congress to stifle EV's and alternative energy generally

^ Can't disagree, and as an outsider it's all very insular and backward - but suffice to say, it doesn't mean that the bill gets passed. ... 'Make America Great Again' - the only problem with that is where they measured the baseline.

    Back-In Parking

^ a much more sensible approach to parking, especially is the main road through a town is also the one that you need to park on - which is probably more common in the US than most other places come to think of it. Safer too, as you can load your shopping into the car from the sidewalk/ pavement...

Puegeot iOn whole car and parts for sale

if/when you disassemble the entire battery pack, I may be interested in a spare cell or two. Surprised the car was grey imported from the UK, when Japan and Oz are so much closer...

    Weird Charging Curve

Makes perfect sense... clearly the man who devised the Portuguese EVSE pubic charging network knew nothing about how EVs charge, and rather worked on the current-drawing model of an electric kettle. Your workaround is quite inspired.

    Solar panel charging

This product has just been showcased on the latest edition of Fully Charged. Good product, but I would prefer the display panel to be part of an app, rather than on the EVSE - or an app, plus a simple turn dial setting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EtegQfZQRw

    Weird Charging Curve

I would have thought that even though the chart appears to show zero current for a time bucket of a good few minutes, in reality it's actually showing the lowest kilo-wattage in that time bucket increment. This, I would assume, would mean that rather than dropping down to zero for a few...

Peugeot iOn radio missing Bluetooth phone options - how to upgrade firmware?

Does the media selection become available if you connect a USB drive with media on it? This is a significant difference to the I-MIEV, as this was supplied with a Pioneer generic head unit, that is not coded in any way, nor has Bluetooth, nor has any connectivity menu - i.e. a very typical...

    Clicks from wheel covers

evidence of a considerable de-skilling in new world ways of thinking Vs the old. 'Ill use my eyes and brain before I use my smartphone Vs ill plug that in and my smartphone will give me the answer'.

iMiEV in North Dallas - AC/DC - Black Cars

Not as many as you may think actually... Loads of PHEVs, Leafs, Zoe and I3s, and many many Teslas now. Funny thing in London is that OK, you get the Congestion Tax free, but you don't get parking discounted in any way other than in Westminster, but they only give you about 4 hours max - so that...

iMiEV in North Dallas - AC/DC - Black Cars

amen. To be fair, looking after a classic car is really easy. All you have to do is take the whole thing apart piece by piece, take all the paint off the body, cut out all the rust and replace with new steel, galvanize it, re-paint it, under-seal it and then put everything back in the reverse...

iMiEV in North Dallas - AC/DC - Black Cars

Ive seen those figures about the IMIEV in the UK, and all I can think of is that the database is riddled with inaccuracy - though I was led to beleive it runs off DVLA data, in no way can I accept there are 10 times the number of Austin Healeys in the UK as there are Mitsubishi IMIEVs... and if...

iMiEV in North Dallas - AC/DC - Black Cars

Lost skills from an era of beauty for sure, but also an era when what didn't leak oil or smoke ended up rusting and falling off. I actually trying to think what mechanics you'll actually need in a future of EVs... not so much. Brakes and suspension and plastic trim removal and replacement...

    MiEV newbie needs advice please

This appears to be a different situation than is the case in the UK (and Europe???). So, for the warranty to be valid, the car need full service history, which up until a court case about 5 years ago was deemed to have to be done at the franchise dealership, but has since been interpreted to be...

    Life with Chevy Bolt EV

I agree with you 100%. The only things i'll say are things we all know, and are that: 1. Toyota invested loads into HFC, and wanted to wait, but the market moved to EV as the tech was more accessible. 2. The sheer amount of batteries needed creates a very long lag phase for full EV roll-out...

    Life with Chevy Bolt EV

I agree that 290 miles is clearly better than 70, and if I did a high mileage, I would choose something like that - however GM have not released it in the UK, and the closest thing I could get is a Hyundai Ionic, which has also had extremely good reports, so it sounds like whatever future people...
