    Thailand

Mission statement I would suspect. The car in that link looks to be one of the older-gen Imiev's, as was tested during the CABLED trial in the UK c. 2009-10 (Uk chosen as largest right hand drive market in Europe I suspect). Thailand also a RHD market...

    Riversimple and Fuel Cell Discussions

Very interesting article, I had no idea that this was going on up there. One of the things that has been discussed in the wider energy mix debate in the UK is the need for multiple implementations of projects like this, as we do have a huge amount of coastline, and more potential wind energy...

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

I use a Rolec as well - but I doubt the wall charger has anything to do with it - saying that I find my Rolec can be a bit jumpy on occasion which may be a hard stop in effect. I too never hard unplug, and let the car end the charging cycle. My parents also have an IMIEV, and they use the...

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

The obvious two culprits. I think, especially now that these cars are ageing a bit, I will charge control more closely in the very hot/ very cold weather via the remote... though luckily that is quite rare here in the UK (and the climate is somewhat similar to Japan) (can't remember any charger...

    power windows not working

That's extremely odd, as the car lets you close the windows for a short period even after being turned off and the key removed. If the door lock also didn't work, then It points to the door wiring, or a short in that area... don't suppose you've had any crash damage or other repairs in that...

New Honda EV . Similar IMIEV idea!! It’ll work???!!!

Totally agree with the hood mounted charger port - the door is too big, it's too liable to be caught or tampered with, and the lead could also end up rubbing the bodywork. Plus, I always like the chargers on the rear of the car, it always seems to be more convenient when I park at home or away...

    Removing side graphics?

Personally, I like the side graphics - it gives continuity of the two-tone design throughout the car. Could also look good with a black hood/ roof too. If I could find a set of those decals, I'd actually add them - my all-silver car looks a bit plain IMO. You will never get a decal sticker off...

New Honda EV . Similar IMIEV idea!! It’ll work???!!!

I think that should sell well if they get the price right. It's very much a true Honda recipe, unlike many of their recent offerings of late. Though it looks squarely positioned between the BMW i3 and the IMIEV - so I would expect it to be priced as such... so probably not far off Leaf money...

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

^ It is extremely surprising to me that such a clear single point of failure is not protected properly by a) thermal protection, b) resistance protection, c) secondary circuit breaking or d) a replaceable sub-component. What's that fuse on the board there for? This is the sort of evolution...

Dead C-zero after only 6 years and 21k miles :(

... and if that's the original 12v battery, even more reason to just try a new one.

i-MiEV Cuts Out After Hitting Bump

Joe - I should probably add that if any of the stuff I mentioned overloaded it would likely blow a fuse, especially the AC stuff - though difficult to say if there is internal overload protection on those motors respectively (which there may well be, not studied any wiring diagrams on the i)...

What Other EV's Have You Driven?

My IMIEV (which is a less common 'Keiko' spec with brown seats, dash and trimmed door cards, chrome touches and so on) My Parents IMIEV (which actually drives a bit different to mine, even though a 2012 also, quite a lot of spec differences, but feels slightly quicker off the mark, though an...

replace 8 pack cells and bms

Ah ok, that makes sense. Shame to have to do all that work for a faulty board... I wonder if it could also be a connection fault at the connector, and therefore not such a large task?

i-MiEV Cuts Out After Hitting Bump

I had an issue with the battery on the Imiev just like this when I stuck an old (but still good) Insight Gen2 battery in the IMIEV when the original IMIEV one was toast. I had to use terminal adaptors, as the Imiev battery has the larger type 12v battery terminals, while the Honda (same battery...

replace 8 pack cells and bms

Can you not use the existing board and just replace the cells, or are you sure the board has gone?

Pics: New '17/18 interior, 2DIN and paddles (!)

Interesting the European brochure is in English - but no sign of the IMIEV listed on the UK Mitsubishi website, though you can still buy a 2018 Citroen C-Zero and Peugeot Ion... in 2017 they registered 5 and 8 of each respectively by the looks of it... and no IMIEVs. As for the 160Km range...

    CHAdeMO flap release not working

^ Thanks, I'll take a look at that over the weekend, sounds like the most logical issue

    CHAdeMO flap release not working

I noticed that this is now not opening via the release lever by the drivers seat (RHD) (and from other cars I have had, this tends to be due to a fault on the pin at the flap end). I am going to have to pull the inside trim off and have a look - does anyone know if there is a manual override...

    Is my battery dying ?

So - based on the last part of my reply about how you may charge, I would charge from 2-3 bars and leave it overnight until it is fully charged and the charge indicator goes off - and I would cycle the pack a half dozen times in this way. I would also perform a 12v battery pull and leave it for...

    Is my battery dying ?

I dont disagree with the data, but seems unlikely that two cells would weaken at the same time... though I do understand your concerns. I would want to do the cell balancing procedure and repeat this test a couple more times and keep an eye on those two cells. I checked my 2012 car recently at...
