Can the charging station be outside?

I have mine outside, not had any problems, but I cover it with an elasticated waterproof rucksack cover that you use when camping... it keeps the thing dry and dirt-free.

    Motor creeping when beake applied

I only notice the tick sometimes, I am aware that the usual creep is a feature... to make it like a regular automatic.

    Motor creeping when beake applied

Do others feel the motor tick along when stopped in traffic in with the brake pedal depressed. I would have thought the brake may stop the motor creep (i.e. electrically, rather than only mechanically), but I have noticed sometimes (all the time?) that the motor is trying to creep even when...

    New owner

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a successful trial. I had the heater on full over the return leg on a trip yesterday. Outward highway 30 miles at 55-60mph no heater was about 50% of battery, return on local roads 45-50mph of 18 miles with full heater was about 45% - taking the battery down...

    Two i-MiEVs, no Teslas

None of that stuff is illegal here thankfully... 1. Wouldn't fly as we are too short on parking already and sometimes you need to park on the other side of the street facing oncomming traffic. 2. Can understand if it's someone else drive, but noone can stop you parking across your own...

    2016 Paris Auto Show

Na, its the same as my 2012 - no changes at all, ive got the bonnet crease and the integrated rear spoiler. My parents one has a dealer option additional genuine Mitsu spoiler added on in addition. Like this...

    Fully Charged

Not sure if it's bureaucratic meddling per se- rather the historic lack of un-meddling that's the issue (like 500 years of it). We are extremely good at introducing restrictions to growth in favourable areas with bureaucracy in the UK, we have some of the oldest, most complex, draconian and...

    Portable CHAdeMO

I didnt say poor quality, I said questionable quality. When I see something that bulky by design, I wonder if the designer thought about how it would be used... I do think these things need to be rugged and knock proof.

    Portable CHAdeMO

These things look heavy, large and of questionable quality. Would be good to see them in an ABS case or other impact resistant packaging. But I think that for the price they are now, its exorbitant. I can see a very good use for a Solar/ Powerwall CHAdeMO setup - portable or otherwise - but I...

Trade iMiev for Leaf with quick charge?

My take on this is that the presence of a CHAdeMO is mostly a comfort blanket. Mainly because nobody really wants to sit around and wait 25 mins for a charge in the middle of a journey if they don't have to. From what's been said, it is not hugely likely that the CHAdeMO will be in the right...

I would love one of those.

    Kiwi in Slovakia

I wish a London commute was like that... try filtering through traffic in the rain on a scooter while Range Rover drivers are aiming their wheel arches at you.

Petition Ecotricity to make their charging prices fair

That's kind of fair. I used the one near me at M1 J2 about once a week before on the return leg of my weekly shopping run. 50% of the time I couldnt get to a working one due to a Leaf or a fault. I dont use the car for commuting - so id have trouble making 52 CHAdeMO charges a year.

    B Mode

This is what I tend to do - a very light touch of the pedal may turn the light on, but not actually brake at all. Probably loads of laws about showing a brake light when not actually braking! Perhaps we will have a new light colour for regen in the future - green perhaps.

Petition Ecotricity to make their charging prices fair

If you are an Ecotricity domestic energy customer you get to use their CHAdeMO charging network for free. So if you need to use it a lot, you could get your electricity supplied by Ecotricity, and it would be a good value option. The small number of times you may wish to use the charging...

Suspension/brake noise when letting off the brakes

The only things I notice in mine are as follows: 1, slightly more jerkiness on throttle in the max regen mode (thats 'B' on mine), more pronounced after breaking - that i would assume as normal, as its a polarity reversal and inertia thing. 2. A click when i get out of the drivers seat, which...

Suspension/brake noise when letting off the brakes

So that's a creak on suspension unloading then, but there would be some wheel rotation still. Check the breaks properly. Could need a strip-down, clean and copper-greasing. worth checking the tightness of the bolts on the top of the strut - but I can't see how they could have become loose in any...

Suspension/brake noise when letting off the brakes

That would be my guess probably - but the only car i experienced that on was my 2001 Accord, and that was heavy up front. The I has little weight up front. Also, I only noticed that type of creaking when going over speed bumps after the car was more than 9 years old. With those thin tyres, I...
