    The Coal-Powered Car

This seems to be accurate, compared to the study that UCS did a while back. Thank you for posting.

Holy Crap, never doing long distance drive again around here

The closest CHAdeMO (last time I looked) to the Cape is all the way up in Hingham, at the Nissan dealer (Frost, I think?). If you Dad has an available 240V outlet, then a portable L2 charger would be a very good thing. I plan to stay under 50MPH if possible, and plan my route accordingly. My...

Electric lawn Mowers - who uses them ?

Are the wheels on the Craftsman mower ball bearings?

What tire pressures are everyone running? And other question

I drove my brother's i MiEV on Saturday, and I noticed it wasn't coasting very well, compared to my e-Golf or my Leaf. The Leaf in particular is an excellent coaster, with the stock Ecopia tires at 45PSI. The e-Golf is not as good as the Leaf, even with 50PSI in the stock Continental tires. I...

    iMiEV as workhorse

The best thing about an EV is you can have the hatch open - and not get fumes!

It may even be a Tesla - he is a successful guy.

    Nissan Charging

There is a CHAdeMO at the Big Y in Greenfield MA, which is on Rt 2 just west of Rt 91. It is free, as is the Level 2 EVSE in the nearby space. They are on the Chargepoint system.

Electric lawn Mowers - who uses them ?

A friend recently got the 80V Kobalt mower at Lowes. I would like to see it and use it.

Consumers Report: IF it was to report what we like

Ben, all the points you make are excellent. Most automotive journalists (and the people at CR) are very jaded. They have experienced a lot of cars, none of which they had to pay for, and none of which they had to live with.

Thinking to buy electric car . any advices please ?

What other EV's are sold in eastern Europe? Is the Renault Zoe available? I would guess the used EV market is going to be pretty sparse, and if it exists, it will be the most popular models that are the only ones available.

    Outlander PHEV thread

I am wondering what the good folks at Mitsubishi are up to on this - they are teasing a new plugin hybrid concept (that looks sorta' like the CA-MiEV) and yet the delays on the Outlander plugin hybrid keep getting increased. http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51443

    Here Comes the CA-MiEV!

Here's a 2 year old post on the CA-MiEV that I had not seen before: http://www.caranddriver.com/news/mitsubishi-ca-miev-concept-photos-and-info-news This could go up against the Chevy Bolt, Tesla Model 3, 2nd gen Leaf, etc. I hope Mitsubishi keeps going forward with their EV's!

    BMW i3 Extended Test Drive

My brother is getting an i3 REx, and his plum i MiEV will (probably) going to our mother. The i3 apparently has a lot of interior room - like 3"+ from my brother's knees to the dashboard - he is almost 6'-7", so this is very impressive. The current i3's have a wider rear tire. Which is...

Trouble Starting at 12 degrees F

Does Koorz have a battery warmer? I am trying to remember if the i MiEV's sold in colder parts of the country have a battery heater, or not.

    Hypermiling the i-MiEV

Joe, I think your method works in situations with a steep hill and long enough to do this, and/or where you have to stop at the bottom anyway. And if, you are far enough into the drive to be able to "fit" it into the battery.

Solutions for windshield fogging in cold weather?

It would be awesome if someone could try installing a direct heating defroster kit to the windshield! This would save a lot of energy, and work more quickly than the stock defroster.

SNOW TIRES & wheels any recommendations?

I didn't think the Graspics are available for the stock front - but apparently, they are: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Dunlop&tireModel=Graspic+DS-3&sidewall=Blackwall&partnum=465R5DS3&tab=Sizes

SNOW TIRES & wheels any recommendations?

Kris, how are the larger front rims and tires working? Inquiring minds want to know! This could be a important change to owning an i MiEV.

Important Warning - MiEV Unsafe At Any Speed

I am wondering if there was a brake fluid leak, or air in the lines, or a master cylinder failure, or something else like this that we do not know about, with this car? If Peter has mentioned brake issues in other post, in context of turning the car on, then I suspect there is a more ordinary...
