It most certainly is a problem. One only has to look at asphalt pavement in the summer in areas where fuel or oil has been spilled. It turns to mush and erodes.

+1. It is the best urban vehicle. Period. End of story. It has saved me more money in parking fees in NYC than you can imagine. Never mind the fuel savings. I can fit into spots where only a smartcar could do better. Reviewers, and the public (who tend to be led around by reviewers)...

I have an ES with Chademo. It always runs the fan when I first plug in. Even in the winter. I generally always plug in right when I park after a trip. Often my trips are less than 3 miles, and at very low speeds. The batteries couldn't possibly be hot.

Here's the trick...I went through this problem and it drove me and the dealer crazy... When you turn the remote on, you have to hold the button a second or two until it beeps on. But when you send the command, simply press and release the side button quickly...do not hold and wait for a beep...

maybe a little off topic, but I also own a 2010 Prius. I absolutely cannot tell when my car switches over from regen to friction braking, in spite of trying to hear and feel it many times.

I just took my credit this month. I still owed some tax, so I will not be expecting to get anything back or hear from the IRS til next year. If there is something wrong with my return, I usually wouldn't hear from them for nine months anyway.

I sure wish they were giving $10,000 incentives when I bought mine. I got about $1200 off MSRP, I think. Thought I did great at the time.
