    Minor Complaints/Issues. Anyone else?

I would not be concerned. But you have the right to be if you want to. Front end parts are not meant to be painted with rubberized paint. conceivably if rust or moisture gets under the paint you could be worse off. Let nature take it's course. Front end parts will not rust through...they...

    I would call that patina.

    Battery temperature management

If I am reading this right, battery temp does not rise much even under DC quick charge?

Use of public chargers by PHEVs vs. BEVs

I dunno... as I've said before, if the EV market grows as it should, it won't be long before gas stations/convenience stores put the chargers in. They will attract customers they lost to gasoline sales, and boost their convenience store revenues. I tend to think the market should work itself...

    Speedometer Accuracy

I don't tend to use a GPS in mine, but I pass a roadside radar speed limit reminder. I am usually driving at about 30 mph when I go by it, and the radar reads exactly what is on my dash.

    Battery temperature management

One has to think that if MM went through all the trouble developing the cooling/heating system, but only put it into their chaedmo cars, there must be a reason...like, normal battery temps while charging/discharging do not need temperature management...for the battery size and chemistry that we...

Are you still getting roughly the same range on a full charge?

How does Eco mode really work?

No, I think what he was trying tosay is that you have to put your foot on a brake pedal for brake lights to activate. He said it inaccurately.

How does Eco mode really work?

Wait, I think the horse batted an eyelash... I doubt that..., no, I would assert that it takes more than just a "little more pressure" on the brake pedal to engage friction braking. One can determine this by just watching the ampmeter and playing with the brake pedal a little while going down...

Use of public chargers by PHEVs vs. BEVs

This is why I only believe in home charging....and at night.

How does Eco mode really work?

I seriously doubt MM "limits" the amount of regen you get in any drive mode (other than what is the maximum capacity for the system). I would be inefficient to throw away say, half of the regen in D, just to make it seem lighter. It's just that you are getting the regen at a slower rate. It's...

How does Eco mode really work?

Sorry Tony, I think the effects of gravity on the regenerative braking equations compared to the kinetic forward motion of the car, is zilch...unless you are stopping the car for hours on end, in which place you would be going nowhere anyway. ...just citing the physics as I see it.

Miles per Bar/ Range / Trip Planning Discussions

I've noticed this on my car as well. So, make sure you don't drive out too far before starting your return trip. Leave at least 60% of your pips for the return. And don't forget to take hills and elevations into account.

How does Eco mode really work?

Well this reviewer is wrong. The American version of the iMiev does have regenerative brakes. Typically the friction brakes engage all of a sudden if a certain amount of pedal depression is sensed with a certain amount of forward inertia. They typically do not mix and blend with simultaneous...

How does Eco mode really work?

Are you sure the regen braking blends with the friction?

How does Eco mode really work?

Not likely unless you panic stop. Just watch what happens on the ampmeter as you gradually bear down on the brake pedal. If you were engaging friction braking, the amount of regen would not be going up. Of course as you come close to stopping, you start to lose regen but not because of...

How does Eco mode really work?

I would like to add...the imiev, or any EV, only has only one regenerative system. Why would MM, or any other car manufacturer, design and install three or four systems in one car, one being more efficient than the other? It only makes sense that MM installed the most efficient system they...

How does Eco mode really work?

Your definitions of D, E, B and N are correct but you leave out one thing...the time element. For example, and assuming an unimpeded stopping distance, the amount of time you spend slowing down in B is considerably less than in D, so even though you are generating more power in B in a given...
