    Considering/buying a 2012 with less than 2K

Took my first drive to work and back. About 43°F today. Seat heater on the whole way, a few blasts from the max setting on the defroster to clear the windshield and very low heat settings. Not hyper miling and not lead footing. Made the 34 mile round trip with 4 bars left and the rr said 14...

    Considering/buying a 2012 with less than 2K

I did it - I went ahead an got it. I will upgrade the stereo and do the fog lights (Maybe). But I did it. The thing is brand new - but 2012. Now to buy the ODB connector and get Canion and verify that it was as good as I thought!!

170-Mile CHAdeMO Excursion in 5-1/2 Hours

Keep us/me posted would you? I am going to test drive a 2012 Imiev that I ordered from SoCal with the CHAdeMO option (nearly bought a couple before even knowing what CHAdeMO was). Thanks to this forum (and Jray3), I found the car and ordered it delivered. I don't plan on using the DCQC option...

    Considering/buying a 2012 with less than 2K

Thanks - yeah, I think i will keep it as a plug. That way, with an adapter, I can carry it with me. Bad news is, even if I got the car tomorrow, I won't be able to have level 2 charging for a couple of weeks. Good news is, the weather is supposed to be good enough to ride the Rad Rover into...

    Considering/buying a 2012 with less than 2K

Wouldn't you know it. I can't just add a new 200 amp panel to my house. They want to drop a new service and new meter. That will have to wait. BUT! I never really reviewed my 125amp panel. Seems that there is a 30 amp 240v set of breakers that was used for the water heater - except now, we have...

    Considering/buying a 2012 with less than 2K

Thanks JoeS. I have called the folks up there at EVSEupgrade and will get their upgrade on my EVSE... When it is my EVSE - I go see it in three days!!!

    Camping with an i-miev

I was totally thinking of a small teardrop trailer that also has a pusher engine. Maybe something like a smart transaxle or something. It wouldn't win any races but might help you get a little further away from civilization - or at least to an RV park with a plug ;-)

    Considering/buying a 2012 with less than 2K

Thanks - I have a call into an electrician to put a 240v plug on the outside of my house and then I need to call EVSEupgrade and see what doing their upgrade to the 8A Panisonic brick will do to the remote. I would like to get the level 2 charging there at the house FOR SURE - but the thought...

    Considering/buying a 2012 with less than 2K

Hi all. I am learning a ton from your posts. Thanks for blazing the way. I am FINALLY going to take the plunge I have wanted to take for nearly 30 years. And since it still seems out of reach to build my own EV - I am prepping to buy a 2012 lease return with less than 2k on it. I know that...

Hopeful owner looking for consultation - EVSE - wiring...

Thanks! - that is what I figured. There will be a call to the electrician and a call to EVSE later today

Hopeful owner looking for consultation - EVSE - wiring...

yeah - that is not the EVSE that the car is coming with. It is definitely the non-switchable one. and yep - I will need to be getting at least one circuit run to the back/side of the house. Probably will go with the 220 Nema weather proof enclosure. Does anyone now if this EVSE can be used...

Whelp!!! The dealer is replacing the remote and I am getting it for the same price as advertised. Should have about 1700 miles, that is 1,700 (I know, I am going to have to do some battery checking b/c who know how it has been stored) and the price is $8599. With the $399 transfer fee, I might...

I have the pics. Looks like it is the non-switchable 8 amp EVSE and no remote But the CHAdeMO is there - I believe that this is the lever. Can someone confirm in the pic? https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=EC3FB02BB64624EC!5153&authkey=!AF-w9KpuW5QKP6s&v=3&ithint=photo%2cjpg...

Yeah - I doubt that I will get the remote replaced - but I am going to try and work it as a pricing issue with the dealer ;) Thanks!!!

Hopeful owner looking for consultation - EVSE - wiring...

Thanks - there isn't any ground in the house - One of the things I need to do, just drive a long rod in the back yard and wire something into the main panel. There are some plugs that have been run with three wires in the house... rewire is on the list b/c I'd like to get a small solar array...

Thanks pbui19. If I can get the car quickly, I will end up upgrading the wiring and will probably have to depend on the 110V for a while - possibly the occasional DCFC. We will see. There isn't one close to my work or I would hit that at lunch time. Thanks tho!!!

Thanks - yes, I know the difference between the charger (on board in the car) and the EVSE. But most of the time the dealers I have spoke with don't use the term EVSE so I used 'charger' in quotes. I guess then my question on this part, and I beleive you alluded to it before, that the standard...

tigger19687 - do you mean the 120v plug or using the adapter as siai47 mentioned. My daily miles would be about 45 miles, and about 80% of that will be freeway. Looking at how long it takes for the car to charge off a 120v plug, and how long the car would be home (average of 10 hours), I will...
