    Home energy monitoring

Hi all - I am considering buying a home energy monitoring system. I saw one thread on the forum about the TED500. I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with these whole house monitoring systems, like Sense or some of the other manufacturers. I am not interested in the single plug...

    Considering/buying a 2012 with less than 2K

So, update on my little Jack, that some folks here on the forum helped nudge me over the edge and get... Nearly 10k in less than 9 months and NO GAS - WIN!!!

Thinking about buying a 2012 SE model with 5500 miles

Get it if you can get it!! I bought a 2012 back in March with 1700 miles on it. JRay pushed me over the edge reminding me that I still had 4 years and 98300 miles on the battery warranty! Seriously, I bought the car on faith that the battery would still be good. I purchased the dongle and...

i-MiEV is one of 10 top auto failures of last decade - NOT!

I've not had my miev for very long. But the only thing I would have to say to the review is, in the 6,000 miles that I have driven my little car, would have have had to do at least 1 oil change, and at least a dozen hours either in a filling station, waiting in line at a filling station...

SE vs ES and Range and Capacity Discussions

Ecoloco - welcome to the small cluster of folks who see the pure sense in having a miev. Super practical car, solid, sturdy, small, maneuverable, and efficient - everything I could ask for in a commuter car. To some folks dismay (and I would not do this every day) I hauled nearly 600 lbs of...

    Imiev efficiency on the highway

I confess that I have not read every post in this thread - and so I may be re-covering some ground here. But at the last charge stop on my first long adventure this weekend (500+ miles in two days), I was at an Aerovironment charger with a leaf owner. He had a mocked up/home-made whale tail...

Long Distance Travel Battery Thermal Concerns

The 108.7 was a read off the Canion app. I would then pull into a charge station and plug in, before the charge was over, it was back down to 100. Then, before pulling back onto the free way, it had already hit 102 and would slowly climb back up before the next charging station. Most of the...

Long Distance Travel Battery Thermal Concerns

I was kind of surprised that the air conditioning didn't come on when I was driving. It never went above 108.7°. It will be VERY rare that I do this trip again without the aid of a pusher trailer like Jray3 and I have talked about. But it was good to test the 'limits' of Jack and make sure...

Long Distance Travel Battery Thermal Concerns

I was planning on doing that - but I kept losing connection between my phone and Canion. The trip north, I nearly had the whole trip saved. The trip back, I ended up having to reconnect about 4 times. But it did get as high as 108° - which I know is not good - but at every QC station, the...

Long Distance Travel Battery Thermal Concerns

I'm overnighting on my first long distance trip in the imiev. Portland OR to Mt Vernon WA in about 8 hours. 250 miles in 7 qc stops. Left just before 5am with a full charge and arrived just after noon with 14miles left. And will make the return tonight, leaving at 4pm. Over the limit for my...

    iMiEV as workhorse

It did just find. It probably rode all the way home on the suspension bumpers. But I was careful, slow accelerate, watch for bumps, plenty of stopping room. Ironically, AFTER I loaded up, I remembered my tire pressure was pretty high :( But other than that - it took it just fine. I...

    iMiEV as workhorse

How does he do that? Yeah, as I am living with the car, I am noticing some of the corners cut. I know it probably garnered a few needed lbs for efficiency, and also helped their bottom line, but wow - the car mats that came with the car are more substantial than the carpet, and the seat backs...

    Canion

Much earlier in the thread Xavier posted that the LX worked fine. That is what led me to get it. But Like I said, I was having issues keeping it connected to my phone. I found that it was more my phone than the LX. But hopefully the MX will work for you - let us know!!

    Canion

I got this one - https://www.scantool.net/obdlink-lxbt/ and it works great!! I just have older smart phones. It drops out on my Galaxy S4, so I used my girlfriends old S3 and it stays connected pretty well. Good luck!!

    EV Charging Survey

Done - weird scenario's. If I know that my total drive distance is well within my charge - I don't even look for optional charging opportunities. But going for my first big trip next weekend - I will be looking for sure!!!!
