We discovered the "quirk" early on, that the 12v gets drained if locked by the fob. Since then, I have into the habit of locking by pushing the lock button on the door on the way out, making sure key is in hand.
Replaced the 12v with a sealed 12v from Harbor Freight a year ago, seems to be...
I've smoked a cheap solar charger upon replacing the PV panel with a battery. I am guessing that as the PV load current is pulled, the PV output voltage is also lowered and thus limits the amp drawn. I missed my chance of obtaining some used Enphase M215 micro-inverter on ebay to try out, it...
I've been thinking about this as well, so far:
Charging: Use level 2 at 3kw AC via the regular AC & vehicle charger setup; once the PV inverter is turning on, either via the grid or an islanded-subgrid. This way, the pack is maintained by the vehicle build-in BMS.
Dis-charge: the meager...
"The 20A fuse in the OBC has never been found to blow even though it is in the same current path as the MCU fuse? "
How/where is the OBC 20A fuse mounted ? you had hypothesized previously that the MCU 20A may suffered from mechanical vibration. I don't know where the OBC 20A fuse is.
I recall a post by ikiev, may be in the OBC trouble-shooting thread, with a reference to a user-manual page, saying that it's not recommended to disconnect the aux for over a month. If so, the computer has to be re-learn, something about the pack status.
We have 2x 2017-Boltev and have been quite happy with them...knock-on-wood. In fact, it's the 2016 Volt that is giving us grief, the center screen display has gone dark and at >60kmiles, it's out of warranty. Stealer wants ~$1500 to "try" replacing the HMI (Human Machine Interface). I failed...
you could modify/hack your timer and your J1772 trigger, so that your timer control the trigger, and thus turning the charger on/off gracefully as intended.
This may have been brought up somewhere, but would it be prudent to preemptively replace the MCU fuse before failure ? though I have a 2014 iMiev, supposedly with different OBC.
wonder how the BMS activation work ? charging is just the standard Chamedo protocol, but pulling from the pack is normally handled through the motor drive circuitry. If BMS info is being passed through the Chamedo, then I guess the BMS can be external to the iMiev.
I've been thinking about...
2014 iMiEV, haven't figured out how to upload a photo; but the below links to one of your screen shot which shows 39.5Ah and 35.3Ah values at 91.5% SOC. In my case, it was 37.3Ah, 39.0Ah at 100% SOC. Is the 2nd value to the right how much Ah was putting into the pack ? my guess is that the...
bought our 2nd Bolt, another 2017, but pre-owned for $22K and a premium instead of an LT. Still looking for a Tesla, preferably a dual motor for AWD. Any one know of a good deal on Tesla, like Joes' friend, please pm me. :D
Hobdrive BMU screen has 2 displays for Ah. The first one is the same value as Canion display, which I've always interpret as pack max estimated capacity. Canion's Ah history shows the default built-in Ah decline over time.
The 2nd Ah value seems to be current pack capacity, as it varies...
Hopefully that is the case; but doubtful as Mitsu seemed totally surprised. Wasn't there a poll to tally with year info ? I believe kiev started.
I've been charging DCQC almost exclusive for a year now. But during the recent multi days power shutdown in California due to wind&fire; I used the...
