    Need a longer range ev

Personally, unless you need the space I wouldn’t go for the Cmax. The cMax is a discontinued hybrid car similar to a PIP but with about twice the range. This means it’s a hybrid first and EV second, see below https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-t44542_ds534257 Effectively it’s only...

    Need a longer range ev

I3’s you won’t want out of warranty for many reasons Heating description here https://www.speakev.com/threads/bmw-i3-rex-no-heat-pump-so-how-does-it-heat.3315/ Volts especially the Gen 1 are very reliable 35-65 miles per charge depending on weather and driving speed. On the 100 mile trip...

Different Tire Sizes on Standard Rims

I’m confused ? I get the standard rims wouldn’t fit but mathematically the offset and design of the pizza pan (yellow) spare Insight rim should as it’s a very very different rim So do the Insight spares hit the “lip” that Mitsubishi put there to prevent rotating tires or what is the true issue...

Different Tire Sizes on Standard Rims

The narrow aluminum pizza rim spare from an Insight should fit fine up front

Different Tire Sizes on Standard Rims

I would run Insight space saver rims just because 14” treads including the re92’s are cheaper than odd 15” sizes

Bleh Another $50,000 plus skateboard design I was hoping for something mainstream, ah well mass production is hard

California HOV White vs Red stickers

Your EV can be any age to get a red sticker, just make sure it’s never had a sticker before. This is why demand for out of state plug ins is booming and Cali natives are exporting cars

    A New Tire For Us!

I see they have tires that just about fit every car I have, I wonder how much range loss they will cause? Sucks that amazon fights you over delivery problems, my moms package almost got returned due to needing a signature and they only tried delivery once, we had to pickup at the depot and they...

Skinnier rear tires on front rims

Yes I painted the Insight spares and mounted re92’s to them, have 40,000 miles on them.

Skinnier rear tires on front rims

165/65r14’s (re92’s) have a lower rolling resistance and are dimensionally the same as the stock front tires. Lightweight aluminum Rims off the Honda Insight fit as well, I bought an extra pair for $25. If you plan on keeping the car a while I think it a worthy upgrade.

Pics: New '17/18 interior, 2DIN and paddles (!)

Many Asian auto makers have 10 year production cycles (even though they may hide the fact under some plastic and mods) Also I can only find them as being for sale in Europe, it costs nearly nothing to continue to sell the same model of car outside the Us so I guess it makes sense. Too bad...

Salvage Miev in April auctions Corpus Christi and Seattle

That is an odd one, must be flood related I thought normally the full title brand and reason were listed? Ah well if it sells for $500 or less it could make a cheap glider to put something else in

    Riversimple and Fuel Cell Discussions

But their analysis is fundamentally flawed, Natural gas isn’t 65% efficient anymore in most use cases. Natural gas Cogen for example is much more efficient than their hazer process Compression of either gas is very wasteful but more so on H2 I wish them luck but more efficient H2 is still...

    Riversimple and Fuel Cell Discussions

I really don’t get why we would convert natural gas to hydrogen. Making natural gas into hydrogen creates more pollution than just burning the natural gas.

Contact Ben Nelson, he has a spare motor ;)

    What tire would you recommend?

    165/65r14 re92’s roll the best

    So I bought the i-Miev.

Your looking at duosida chargers on epay, they are about $140-$160 factory direct and work fine, but do yourself a favor check out the thread on mynissanleaf and buy direct, no sense paying a middleman for the same cord

Looking for Betatestesters for Opensource CAN software

One guy made an app for 2012 Chevy volts by snooping the can bus, he is able to simulate hold mode, disable ERDTT and use more of the battery buffer. Will this app enable you to snoop and send can commands to add functions?

Forum Etiquette and Member Behavior THANK YOU

Maybe it's that the regulars are decent folk (an efficient inexpensive micro car appeals to them) But I have to say I havent seen the My Imiev has a problem thread with the Tesla would fix that responses you get elsewhere else. Most forums have a crew of revolving new members who thread dump on...

Forum Etiquette and Member Behavior THANK YOU

The reason is the word Tesla isn't mentioned much here. That word gets mentioned and then everything goes crazy. Lots of irrational statements , even on Prius forums when the word that must not be spoken is mentioned, ah well
