How to add Tesla's OBC to imiev?

Buried on this forum are results from testing different charging methods. If the car is aware of AC charging in progress, it has a limit somewhere around 5 kW, and if the battery receives more than that, the car shuts down charging. To make faster charge rates work, the car either has to be kept...

Free used rear Dunlop Enasaves *EDIT* Tires are gone

Previous posts peg him in Seattle. I have enough old tires floating around as is. I’ll pass. Edit. Boy I was wrong. See below.

    Life with Chevy Bolt EV

Apparently, the owner of the 2020 Bolt that burned is auctioning off the keys and owners manual. https://www.ebay.com/itm/203656765453

    2012 SE Purchased

You should be able to make an account on Mitsubishi’s website, add your car, and get complete history and recall information. I’d also check with your local dealer to see if floor mats can be ordered. Congratulations. At 38 Ah, that battery was likely replaced at some point, but that just...

    Life with Chevy Bolt EV

It sounds like new packs are arriving. As I suspected, when GM says “Module”, they mean the entire battery pack. I saw two reports on chevybolt.org of pack replacements. Not that I want to rush into a new pack, but I think I might stop by my local dealer and see what the timeline is.

Either my car or my home charge point is playing up... which one?

Koorz does this on occasion when I charge from level 2 (240 volts) at work. Can’t figure it out. Charges perfectly from level 1 (120 volts). Took it to the dealer when it first happened but they said everything’s good. I suspect something with the charger is going out of spec and shutting down...

    Warranty issue, need help.

One owner pressed for a capacity-related warranty replacement and got it several years ago here, but that’s the only case I’m aware of (something like 40% of rated range at 2 years). Didn’t we all (new US i-MiEV owners) sign the waiver that the warranty doesn’t cover degradation? With EVBatMon...

My just purchased I-MIEV is not running well! Help needed.

Does your car shift into Park or B mode with some difficulty? You might need some lubricant on the shift lever at the motor/gearbox.

    Hatched a Tesla

I’ve only seen the S aero wheels once in the wild, so I’d say they weren’t popular. This was at a Drive Electric Week event several years ago. Honestly, with free Supercharging and a decent network even then, it was probably of very little benefit to most buyers, so they opted for looks or the...

    Hatched a Tesla

I know I can drive more efficiently than Cruise control (especially with the phantom braking on Autopilot cars). My Model 3 lacks the range mode switch (I think it became the default behavior), but I did try some coasting this morning. Boy, does this car roll. For other efficiency improvements...

    Hatched a Tesla

All good points, and unlike my previous charging experience, we didn't wait for the car (at least any more than 5 minutes) to reach a set state of charge before departing. The first stop was unplug and go once we finished using the restrooms and stretching our legs. The second stop was about a 3...

    Hatched a Tesla

Thanks. We took a drive yesterday, and met two twin Model 3 at the Superchargers, so it's a good thing I didn't get it to stand out. The white interior would be a must in hot climates (the side windows have no infrared filtering, so the black seats get hot fast). It's not clear if...

    Hatched a Tesla

Still thinking about a name for the car. I have it narrowed down to: 1. Eagle 5 From Spaceballs, which Tesla draws influence from (Ludicrous Speed, Plaid) https://spaceballs.fandom.com/wiki/Eagle_5 2. Delta Flyer From Star Trek: Voyager https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Delta_Flyer_type 3...

    i-MiEVs Reviewed on Used Market

Auto reviewers absolutely trashed the i-MiEV. It is perfect for running around town. As many bad things that were said, there's double the good things. Some of my favorite features are the speed-sensitive wipers, the fully manual climate controls, how easy the doors close, and it's compact...

    Hatched a Tesla

Thanks. When I got the call that he was selling it, I initially passed, but the more research I did on the market and more the Bolt battery saga drags out, it became an offer almost too good to pass up. Supposedly, we have new battery packs coming starting this month from GM/LG. If that all...

    Hatched a Tesla

I've known the previous owner for a few years now. He's taken extremely good care of the car, the only mark on it is curb rash on the right rear wheel from someone else he let drive. It's a 2018 with 12,500 miles, and has the Enhanced Autopilot, which includes Navigate on Autopilot and Smart...

12v Battery - All You Ever Wanted To Know

Of course, each battery chemistry has different care practices, but only NiCD requires full cycles each time to avoid capacity loss. This is due to the physical crystal growth and dissolution that occurs when the battery is cycled. While detrimental to calendar life, a lithium ion battery...

What Other EV's Have You Driven?

Alex, look into OpenPilot. It’s a hardware kit you can add and enable some self-driving capabilities, somewhat on-par with Tesla Autopilot. It plugs into the camera behind the mirror. Don’t know if it counts, but I took a ride in a Model S P100D early this year, including a few attempted...

    Life with Chevy Bolt EV

Right? The windshield wiper system is actually impressive. Two separate motors that manage to never collide with each other while simultaneously covering a very large percentage of the windshield. Even if you mess up the wipers by hand (they do move easily), they sort themselves out when you...
