    Battery replacement question

Wild thought: maybe try swapping the BMU from the same car that the battery came from. It might have to continue to the VCU as well. That might provoke pairing issues, but those might be solvable with the right scanner.

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

Kiev, I'm thinking that the index post as is now might be enough. I was going to pull in the part 2 and part 3, but they don't look like they'll need any editing in future. We can always copy them later, there are two placeholders waiting for them. Feel free to edit it now, rearrange things, etc.

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

If you ever get a repair where the auxiliary battery was wired in reverse polarity, apart from a lot of obvious fuses that need to be replaced, the DC-DC has a 125 A or 175 A (2019 model) fuse in the bottom plenium. This post has a photo. Reverse polarity lets the output diodes conduct with only...

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

I wanted a new thread, but that's OK, I used my moderator powers to make it so. I've made a tentative start, but there are a lot of links to add and so on. We use PHPBB over at AEVA, the same as the old forum here, so you should find it familiar to use. You may care to reply to the thread with...

Thanks Phil for your summary, and sorry for the false accusation 🤭. Sigh. I was wrong about that. However, the links can be repaired. Consider a link like number 21: https://myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=4079&p=37962#p37960 . This needs to be changed to...

Can you provide a link please? I can't find it. I wonder where they are getting these from. Perhaps a parts seller went out of business?

Or just one 16 A thermal fuse. The P10K resistors have a single 15 A rated thermal fuse in them: The chargers have the J15 model, 157°C rated temperature, and interestingly only 5 W continuous @ 25°C.

Admin: New Forum Software (18 December 2023)

Many but not all links from post to post seem to now land at the start of the thread containing the destination post. The problem seems to be something to do with the anchor part of a URL, i.e. the part after the # character. In some cases this is no big deal, but some threads are at 64 pages...

CMU reporting battery cell temp of 57 deg [solved]

You may be mixing red and green CMUs. They are not compatible.

CMU reporting battery cell temp of 57 deg [solved]

Unless @Vladkovsky picked the wrong group of 8. There are some bad diagrams out there, as you know. @Vladkovsky, has the new group fixed the cell that was down? You may find that you have to renumber the CMUs.

I typed too soon. I tried to find the snubber caps specifications; the link would not work. I think maybe some links near the top have been changed to the new forum's format? Here is the new link for "optional caps"...

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

@kiev, I found it, one of the first links (search for "Aug 2021" without the quotes). Perhaps add some more text to the link to say that it's about repairing a capacitor in the epoxy of a mini-Waffle plate (2010 model). So this repair was not to the large Waffle Plate, but I imagine that the...

I thought I'd find it for you... no dice. I can't find it with Google or with archive.org. This could get annoying. I don't have time to chase this up just now, but something has to be done.

    Battery current sensor

No. The people I was working with changed direction and decided on the CAN bus solution instead, so this connector wasn't needed. Or maybe they found it and it's part of the update kit, but they would not be giving out details about that kit. The kit has a 35-pin very generic looking plug; my...

Troubleshooting for Chademo DC Quick Charge (DCQC)

It's possible that the vehicle detected a leakage to earth (chassis), and has set a trouble code. Have you checked for such a trouble code? I would expect the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) to come on though, and possibly a special trouble lamp for the HV battery.

We have 3 months, at least on the sister Leaf forum, also recently updated. That might be awkward, but it might force starting new, cleaner posts with just the most relevant posts included. Or probably the new post starts off as mostly links to posts in the older thread. But I think you'd want...

    AC charger suddenly stopped working

If they replaced the AC-DC converter (HV charger) section with a second hand one, then I think that's pretty reasonable. If they just dried out the water and painted on a bit of alcohol, then maybe not so much. Though that's pretty labour intensive, and skilled labour is expensive. It's pretty...

The Troubleshooting and Repair for On-board Charger (OBC) Thread

There is some discussion starting about here, and part links a few posts down. @kiev, I think we're in for some misery with the latest forum software. A lot of the old links seem to be page related, and the number of posts per page seems to have changed (maybe doubled from 10 to 20). As a...

Only to energise the relay. But yes. I think so. There should be a 9.4Ω ±10% difference between the two, and the 0.5Ω is partly multimeter lead resistance. So around 10Ω, and around zero. The exact values are not important. But yes.
